An adhesive composition is provided. The adhesive composition for zipper bag application, comprising the following components: (a) a mixture of a polyurethane dispersion with acrylic emulsion, wherein the polyurethane dispersion comprises a reaction product of by dry weight based on total dry weight of the polyurethane dispersion, from 30% to 50% of a monomeric diisocyanate, from 45% to 69% of a polymeric polyol and from 1% to 15% of ionic surfactant, the polyurethane dispersion has a Tg of −15° C. to 15° C., and the acrylic emulsion has a Tg of −10° C. to 25° C., and wherein the ratio by weight of the polyurethane dispersion and the acrylic emulsion is from 15:85 to 85:15, (b) a polyisocyanate.

Adhesive composition

Provided is a composition comprising an aqueous medium, and further comprising, dispersed in the aqueous medium: (a) particles (a) that comprise a maleated polyolefin (a), and (b) particles (b) that comprise an acrylic polymer (b), wherein the acrylic polymer (b) comprises, by weight based on the solid weight of the acrylic polymer (b): (i) 0.1% to 10% polymerized units of hydroxyl functional acrylic monomer, (ii) 1% to 20% polymerized units of carboxyl functional monomer, and (iii) 70% to 98.9% polymerized units of one or more additional monomer (iii) selected from the group consisting of acrylic monomers, styrenic monomers, and mixtures thereof, wherein the maleated polyolefin (a) is present in an amount of 1% to 19% by weight based on the sum of the solid weights of maleated polyolefin (a) and acrylic polymer (b). Also provided is a method of binding fibers using the composition.

Aqueous polymer formulation

An aqueous composition including multi-stage latex polymer particles is provided. The multi-stage latex polymer particles include (A) a first-stage polymer containing (i) an ethylenically unsaturated acid monomer with two carboxylic acid groups and (ii) a first vinyl monomer, and (B) a second-stage polymer containing (i) an ethylenically unsaturated monomer with an epoxy group and (ii) a second vinyl monomer. An article including a nonwoven textile impregnated with the aqueous composition is also provided.

Aqueous composition comprising multi-stage latex polymer particles

Water-based adhesive composition are disclosed, the compositions comprising an acrylic dispersion, an epoxy-terminated polyester incorporated into the acrylic dispersion, and a water-dispersible isocyanate. Methods for laminating a first substrate to a second substrate are also disclosed, the methods comprising (a) providing an acrylic dispersion, (b) providing an epoxy-terminated polyester, (c) mixing the acrylic dispersion and the epoxy-terminated polyester, (d) mixing the mixture of (c) with a water-dispersible isocyanate to form an adhesive composition, (e) coating the adhesive composition of (d) on a surface of the first substrate, (f) drying the adhesive compositions on the first substrate to remove water, and (g) bringing the adhesive composition on the surface of the first substrate into contact with a surface of a second substrate, thereby laminating the first substrate to the second substrate. Laminates prepared comprising the water-based adhesives and according to the disclosed methods are also disclosed.

Water-based adhesive compositions

The present disclosure provides a curable composition comprising from 70 to 99% by dry weight based on total dry weight of the curable composition, an acrylic emulsion component, and from 1 to 30% by dry weight based on the total dry weight of the curable composition, a polyolefin emulsion component prepared by emulsifying a polycarboxylic-compound functionalized polyolefin starting material.

Formaldehyde-free curable composition

A curable aqueous formulation comprising a) an emulsion polymer with 0.1 to 20 weight percent acid monomers, b) an oxazoline-containing polymer, and c) an aqueous acrylic polymer dispersion with 40 to 100 weight percent acid monomers and having a weight average molecular weight in the range of from 2000 to 500000.

Formaldehyde-free curable formulation

The present invention provides a curable aqueous composition comprising a (co)polymer and an epoxy crosslinker. The (co)polymer comprises, as (co)polymerized units, from 0.05% to 10% by dry weight, based on total monomers of the (co)polymer, ethylenically unsaturated acidic monomers having at least two carboxylic acid groups, and the epoxy crosslinker is an aliphatic compound having at least two reactive oxirane groups. It further provides a method for forming a treated substrate and a substrate formed by the method.

Curable aqueous composition

Provided is an aqueous adhesive composition comprising a polymer that comprises (a) polymerized units of one or more alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer, (b) polymerized units of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid or a mixture thereof, (c) polymerized units of one or more dialkyl diester of itaconic acid, and (d)polymerized units of one or more other monomer.

Aqueous adhesive composition

A method for forming chrome-free retanned leather including: (a) contacting wet white with from 1% to 8%, by solids weight, based on the wet weight of wet white, retanning agent selected from the group consisting of: i) an aqueous emulsion polymer including, as copolymerized units, from 2% to 35%, by weight, based on the weight of the emulsion polymer, ethylenically-unsaturated monomer bearing at least one epoxy group, the emulsion polymer having a weight average molecular weight of from 2,000 to 100,000; ii) a compound selected from the group comprising piperazine, piperazine hydrates, salts of piperazine, and combinations thereof; and iii) combinations of i) and ii); (b) heating the contacted wet white; and (c) drying the contacted, heated wet white is provided. The present application also relates to chrome-free retanned leather formed by the method of the invention.
