A polymer composition suitable for wood treatment or binding comprises a reaction product of at least a polyol and at least a crosslinking agent. The crosslinking agent has at least 2 carboxylic acid groups per molecule. A wood product comprising a wood substrate and a polymer composition as well as a wood treatment process are also disclosed.

Polymeric composition for cellulosic material binding and modifications

A method of drying comprises placing a moist material inside a substantially enclosed solar greenhouse. The greenhouse comprises at least one light transmission roof and/or wall panel that is substantially transparent to solar radiation, but resistant to convective and conductive heat transfer. The interior temperature and humidity of the greenhouse are maintained within their pre-determined ranges while the interior moisture of the greenhouse is effectively reduced to allow a controlled drying of the material. A solar greenhouse for the drying process is also disclosed.

Wood-drying solar greenhouse

A plane constructed shaft system used to replace the cylindrical shaft in precision polishing apparatuses. Thus, the accuracy, productivity and cost of polishing apparatuses are improved. The shaft system has a four-surface hollow prism bushing and a four-surface prism shaft that can slide freely within the bushing. The polishing pressure is maintained by the weights of the shaft plus the parts attached to the shaft, but this pressure can be reduced by adjusting a load adjusting nut which compresses a loading spring acting on a collar stop attached to the shaft. The actual polishing pressure can be calculated according to the position of the load adjusting nut. Furthermore, the stock removal amount can be controlled by a stock removal stop ring which is mounted on the collar stop and can be adjusted up and down as required.

Method for preparing melamine from urea via a high-pressure process in which solid melamine is obtained by transferring the reactor product comprising liquid melamine, CO,and NH,to a gas/liquid separator and subsequently transferring the melamine melt coming from the separator to a vessel where the melamine melt is cooled with an evaporating cooling medium, characterized in that, the gas/liquid separation is conducted by addition of 5.10,-2.1,mole of water per mole of melamine.

Method for preparing melamine

An apparatus for sensing the deflection of a beam directed at an article detects slight deflection of the beam when the beam is directed at a large angle of incidence. The large angle of incidence increases the apparatus sensitivity to detect certain characteristics within an article which cause slight deflection, and allows the use of smaller optical elements. The apparatus can detect defects such as coating voids, streaks, and caliper variations when transparent materials are coated onto transparent substrates.
