A heat exchanger includes a header, a plurality of tubes, and a reinforcement member. The header has a face plate that defines a plurality of orifices, a top plate that extends away from an end of the face plate, and a projection that extends outward from the top plate. Each of the plurality of tubes extend into a respective one of the plurality of orifices. The reinforcement member has a backing plate that is secured to the top plate, a brace that extends from the backing plate and is secured to a first of the plurality of tubes, and a protrusion that extends outward from the backing plate. The protrusion engages the projection to restrict movement of the reinforcement member in a longitudinal direction relative to the tubes.

An end tab for a heat exchanger frame includes a plate, an end, an expansion portion, and a bent portion. The plate has a first width, and the end has a second width larger than the first width. The expansion portion increases the width from the first width to the second width. The bent portion connects the plate and the end and includes at least one window.

Side plate end tab for heat exchanger

A heat exchanger including a first tank having a first inlet through which coolant flows into the first tank. A core has a plurality of coolant conduits that receive coolant from the first tank. A second tank receives coolant from the plurality of coolant conduits. The second tank has a first outlet through which coolant flows out from within the second tank. A flow guide is within the first tank or the second tank, and is movable to vary how much coolant flows through different ones of the plurality of coolant conduits.

Controlled in-tank flow guide for heat exchanger

The present disclosure provides a heat exchanger that includes a plurality of tubes and a side plate arranged most outside of the plurality of tubes. The side plate extends in a longitudinal direction of the plurality of tubes. The heat exchanger further includes a core plate, and longitudinal ends of the plurality of tubes are connected to the core plate. Furthermore, the heat exchanger includes a tank connected to the core plate, and a thermal expansion joint integrally formed in the core plate. The thermal expansion joint is located on an end portion of the core plate, and includes a wall part, which an end portion of the side plate in the longitudinal direction is brazed with, and a bent part, which is configured to be deformed to allow the thermal expansion joint to have flexibility between the side plate and the core plate.

A combined heat exchanger and active grille shutter assembly. The assembly includes a rotatable shutter and an actuator configured to rotate the shutter. A conduit of the shutter is configured to accommodate flow of fluid therethrough and permit heat transfer between the fluid and air about the shutter. An inlet and an outlet are in fluid communication with the conduit.
