A magnetic resonance (MR) system is provided. The system includes a main magnet assembly configured to generate a polarizing magnetic field, a gradient coil assembly including a plurality of gradient coils configured to apply at least one gradient field to the polarizing magnetic field, and a shield assembly positioned between the main magnet assembly and the gradient coil assembly. The shield assembly includes a conductive layer fabricated with an electrically conductive material and defining grooves positioned through the conductive layer, wherein the grooves are configured to block motional eddy currents caused by actions of the polarizing magnetic field and the at least one gradient field when the at least one gradient field is applied.

Systems, assemblies, and methods of suppressing magnet-gradient interaction in magnetic resonance systems

A system for minimizing MGI in a superconducting magnet system of an MRI system includes a thermal shield having bi-metal material. The thermal shield is configured to be disposed about a cold mass of the superconducting magnet system, wherein the bi-metal material is configured to minimize MGI.

Thermal shield of magnetic resonance imaging magnet for limiting magnet gradient interaction

A superconducting magnet system is provided. The superconducting magnet system includes a coil former, superconducting coils supported by the coil former, and one or more cooling assemblies. The cooling assemblies are in thermal contact with the coil former and include one or more cooling tubes for receiving a cryogen passed therethrough. The cooling assemblies are detachably mounted on the coil former and form at least one cooling circuit therein. The cooling assemblies include one or more flat surfaces attached on a surface of the coil former. A method of manufacturing the same is also provided.

An imaging device may include a patient bore to house a subject to be imaged, wherein the patient bore includes one or more bore tubes. The imaging device may also include a gradient coil surrounding, at least partially, the patient bore and a radio frequency (RF) shield located outside the one or more bore tubes. Additionally, the imaging device may include an RF coil located within at least one of the bore tubes.

A magnetic resonance imaging system includes at least one gradient coil, at least one coil former, a thermal shield assembly, and at least one linking member. The at least one gradient coil generates at least one gradient field along at least one direction in response to pulsed signals. The at least one coil former is attached with at least one coil. The thermal shield assembly is arranged adjacent to the at least one coil former. The at least one linking member is configured for increasing mechanical rigidity of the thermal shield assembly by mechanically linking at least a part of the thermal shield assembly with the at least one coil former. As a result, mechanical vibrations of the thermal shield assembly can be reduced.

With a view toward implementing a thermal controlling method for making reversible a temperature characteristic of a magnetic field generator using permanent magnets small in Hcj, a magnetic field generator whose temperature characteristic is reversible, using permanent magnets small in Hcj, and an MRI apparatus provided with such a magnetic field generator, there is provided a method for controlling the temperature of a magnetic field generator having a pair of disc-shaped permanent magnets whose magnetic poles opposite in polarity to each other are opposed to each other with spacing defined therebetween, and a yoke that forms return passes for magnetic fluxes of the permanent magnets, comprising the steps of raising the temperature from room temperature to a temperature higher than the room temperature, maintaining the temperature higher than the room temperature, and lowering the temperature from the temperature higher than the room temperature to the room temperature, whereby the temperature characteristics of the permanent magnets are made reversible.
