A UE includes a processor configured to determine whether to prioritize processing of a first reference signal relative to a priority reference that comprises a second reference signal and/or a priority reference channel. The first reference signal comprises a positioning reference signal. To determine whether to prioritize processing the processor is at least one of: configured to determine whether to measure, absent a measurement gap, the first reference signal (a first downlink reference signal) instead of the second reference signal; or configured to determine whether to measure, absent the measurement gap, the first downlink reference signal instead of a downlink channel; or configured to determine whether to transmit the first reference signal, comprising a first uplink reference signal, instead of a second uplink reference signal; or configured to determine whether to transmit the first uplink reference signal instead of transmitting on the priority reference channel.

Positioning signal prioritization

Techniques are provide for passive positioning of user equipment (UE) with analog beamforming. An example method for positioning a user equipment includes receiving a first positioning reference signal from a first base station at a first time, receiving a first timing difference value based on two or more positioning reference signals transmitted from the first base station, receiving a second positioning reference signal from a second base station at a second time, receiving a second timing difference value based on two or more positioning reference signals transmitted from the second base station, and determining a time difference of arrival between the first positioning reference signal and the second positioning reference signal based at least in part on the first timing difference value and the second timing difference value.

Passive positioning with analog beamforming

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a grant for a physical uplink channel. The UE may select skipped resources that include one or more of frequency resources or time resources in the grant to skip for a communication on the physical uplink channel. The UE may transmit uplink control information (UCI) that indicates the skipped resources or non-skipped resources of the grant. The UE may transmit the communication using the non-skipped resources and not the skipped resources. Numerous other aspects are described.

A signal measuring method includes: receiving, at a user equipment, first positioning assistance data having a first area of applicability and a first positioning assistance data profile; storing the first positioning assistance data at the user equipment; determining, at the user equipment, that second positioning assistance data correspond to the first positioning assistance data based on the first area of applicability including a second area of applicability, of the second positioning assistance data, and based on a second positioning assistance data profile of the second positioning assistance data corresponding to the first positioning assistance data profile; and measuring, at the user equipment, a positioning signal corresponding to the second area of applicability using the first positioning assistance data in response to determining that the second positioning assistance data correspond to the first positioning assistance data.

Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory media for providing signaling consideration for wireless positioning with disjoint bandwidth segments. For instance, one or more indications of a preferred bandwidth configuration can be transmitted by a user equipment. Based on the one or more indications, the user equipment can receive a positioning configuration that indicates disjoint bandwidth segments containing a positioning reference signal based on the preferred bandwidth configuration. In response, the user equipment can then determine one or more positioning measurements based on the positioning reference signal in the disjoint bandwidth segments.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For instance, a flow control layer of a UE may provide a capability message to an application layer including an indication that the UE supports a service for providing flow control information for support of extended reality traffic and may receive a message from an application of the application layer registering a flow associated with the application with the service. The flow control layer may provide, to the application via the service, an indication that a quantity of packets or bytes in a buffer of the flow control layer fails to satisfy a threshold. The UE may obtain, from the application, a packet associated with the flow based on providing the indication that the quantity of packets or bytes in the buffer fails to satisfy the threshold and may transmit, to a network entity, a message including the obtained packet.

Uplink packet management for user interaction delay reduction

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an application server may receive an indication that a handover is likely for a user equipment (UE), wherein the UE is in communication with the application server to receive a data stream. The application server may provide the data stream using values of one or more parameters to reduce an impact of a communication interruption associated with the handover. Numerous other aspects are described.

In an embodiment, a serving BS of a UE may transmit a PDCCH communication to the UE. The PDCCH communication triggers a partial RACH procedure, whereby a RACH transmission is performed. In some designs, the RACH transmission is for positioning, and positioning measurements are performed at the serving BS and (optionally) at one or more non-serving BSs. In some designs, measurement data based on the positioning measurements are conveyed to a position estimation entity (e.g., LMF), which performs a positioning estimate of the UE.

A user equipment (UE) may receive multiple transport blocks (TBs) representing an application data unit (ADU) from a base station. The base station may transmit an indication that the UE is to provide ADU level feedback. The UE may determine the ADU level feedback based on whether the ADU is successfully received and decoded or not. The UE may indicate the ADU level feedback for the TBs to the base station. The base station and the UE may communicate according to the ADU level feedback.

Application data unit architecture and signaling

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine that the UE has received, from a network, a sufficient quantity of protocol data units (PDUs) to decode a frame. Accordingly, the UE may indicate, to the network, that the UE has decoded the frame. Similarly, the UE may determine that the network has received, from the UE, a sufficient quantity of PDUs to decode a frame. Accordingly, the UE may refrain from transmitting one or more additional PDUs associated with the frame. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE may receive, from the network, an indication to disable some feedback to the network. Accordingly, the UE may refrain from transmitting one or more feedback signals based at least in part on the indication. Numerous other aspects are described.

Traffic and feedback management based on frame decoding

A user equipment (UE) transmits reference signals for positioning while in Idle or Inactive state. While in a connected state, the UE is pre-configured with Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) resource configuration including at least one of timing adjustment (TA) and an uplink (UL) transmission spatial filter. The UE transmits positioning SRS while in Idle or Inactive mode based on the pre-configuration. The TA and UL transmission spatial filter may be updated by a serving base station using control signals or a paging message received by the UE while in in Idle or Inactive mode. The validity of the TA and UL transmission spatial filter may be monitored using expiration timers or a relative position change threshold. The reference signals transmitted may be based on a UE may Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH), which is insensitive to TA changes. A long sequence PRACH may be used for improved positioning accuracy.

Methods and apparatus for supporting positioning in idle or inactive mode

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques wireless communication by a user equipment (UE), comprising receiving an uplink (UL) grant from a network entity, wherein the UL grant schedules the UE to transmit an UL channel transmission associated with a plurality of logical channels (LCs), and the UL grant indicates a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for transmitting the UL channel transmission associated with the plurality of LCs, receiving a plurality of MCS offsets, and transmitting the UL channel transmission associated with one or more LCs of the plurality of LCs based on the MCS indicated in the UL grant and the plurality of MCS offsets.

Uplink logical channel specific modulation and coding scheme signaling

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device may aggregate multiple data bits into a group of data bits associated with an application on the device. The device may determine quality of service parameters associated with the group of data bits. The quality of service parameters may include an error rate associated with the group of data bits, a delay budget associated with the group of data bits, timing information associated with the group of data bits, or content policy information associated with the group of data bits, or a combination thereof. The device may transmit the group of data bits to another device in the wireless communication system. The group of data bits may include group header information including an indication of the quality of service parameters.
