Embodiments of this disclosure include polymer blends comprising at least 90% by weight low density polyethylene (LDPE) polymer; and from 1% to 10% by weight ethylene acrylate copolymer. The ethylene acrylate copolymer is the polymerized reaction product of: at least 50% by wt. ethylene, based on the total weight of the monomers present in the ethylene acrylate copolymer; from 2% to 40% by wt. alkyl acrylate, based on the total weight of the monomers present in the ethylene acrylate copolymer; and from 0 to 20 wt. % of monocarboxylic acid monomer, based on the total weight of the monomers present in the ethylene acrylate copolymer.

The present disclosure provides an ethylene-based polymer. The ethylene-based polymer is formed from reacting, under polymerization conditions, ethylene monomer and bisallyl maleate ('BAIIM'). The present ethylene-based polymer with ethylene monomer and bisallyl maleate branching agent is interchangeably referred to as “BAIIM-PE.”

The polymer blend includes at least 90% by weight low density polyethylene (LDPE) polymer and from 1% to 10% by weight acid copolymer based on the total weight of the polymer blend. Polymer blends, films, and coated substrates that include the polymer blends. The polymer blends include at least 90% by weight low density polyethylene polymer and from 1 to 10% by weight ionomer. The LDPE polymer has a melt index (I)from 2 g/10 mins to 6 g/10 mins, and a molecular weight distribution from 5 to 11 as determined by a conventional gel permeation chromatography method. The ionomer includes an ethylene acid copolymer, in which from 15% to 70% of acid groups are neutralized by sodium cation based on the total number of acid groups in the acid copolymer. The ethylene acid copolymer is the polymerized reaction product of: at least 50% by wt. ethylene, from 2 wt. % to 40 wt. % of monocarboxylic acid monomer, and from 0 to 20 wt. % of alkyl acrylate, based on the total wt. % of the monomers present in the ethylene acid copolymer.
