Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an apparatus and method for facilitating access to data in a distributed storage system by using a processing unit configured to collect information related to running status of the distributed storage system; obtain metadata related to data stored in the distributed storage system; in response to a request from a client, provide to the client the information related to running status and metadata related to data to be accessed; and extend storage nodes in the distributed storage system so that the client can directly access the storage nodes by using the information related to running status and the metadata related to data to be accessed. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and apparatus for performing cross-layer orchestration of resources in a data center having a multi-layer architecture. The method comprises: performing unified control of all resources in all layers of the data center; performing unified storage of all topologies and machine-generated data of all layers of the data center; and orchestrating the resources of the data center based on the unified control and the unified storage. Embodiments of the present invention provide a higher level orchestration than methods in the prior art, and employ some functions provided by methods in the prior art to provide a unified manner when the demand changes for orchestrating a layered cloud data center, in order to immediately provide a suitable capability.

A method and apparatus for managing network attached storage that includes detecting frequency of access from a client to a data item that is in a first server in the network attached storage, a global namespace of the network attached storage indicating an access address for accessing the data item, the access address including a first address of the data item in the first server; in response to the frequency being higher than a predetermined threshold, copying the data item from the first server to a second server in the network attached storage which is proximate to the client, so as to form a data image; and updating the global namespace so as to add to the access address a second address of the data image in the second server whereby the data access efficiency of the network attached storage can be considerably improved.

Session information is received in a processing device and processed to generate a message in a message queuing protocol format. The resulting message is provided to a message queuing protocol server. The session information may comprise at least a portion of a session initiation protocol (SIP) message, and may be received in a SIP component, which may comprise a SIP endpoint. In processing the session information to generate the message in the message queuing protocol format, at least a portion of the session information may be incorporated into an advanced message queuing protocol (AMQP) message that is transmitted to an AMQP server. The SIP component may comprise a user agent coupled to an AMQP message listener and an AMQP message sender. The SIP component may also receive an AMQP message from the AMQP server, process the message to generate session information, and provide the session information to a user device.

Processing device having session component with integrated support for message queuing protocol

A common information model (CIM) message received in a processing device of an information processing system is transformed to a message in a designated message queuing protocol format, such as an advanced message queuing protocol (AMQP) message format. The transformed message is then posted or otherwise provided to a message queuing protocol server. The CIM message may comprise, for example, a CIM notification received in a CIM client from a CIM server, responsive to an indication subscription from the CIM client. The transformation of the CIM message to the message in the designated message queuing protocol format may more particularly involve, for example, transforming a CIM notification associated with the CIM message to a CIM instance object, transforming the CIM instance object to an alerting object, and transforming the alerting object to an AMQP message. One or more of these operations may be performed in a CIM transform module.
