A vehicle radar system () and related method including at least one transceiver arrangement () arranged to generate and transmit radar signals (), and to receive reflected radar signals (). The radar signals form a plurality of sensing sectors or sensing bins (-), that together form a transceiver coverage (), For each sensing bin (-) the radar system () is arranged to obtain a target angle (&#x3c6;) and a target range (r) to possible target objects (-). The radar system () is further arranged to determine an unoccupied domain border () and a corresponding unoccupied domain () for the radar transceiver coverage ().

A vehicle FMCW Doppler radar system () and related method using transmitter arrangement (), a receiver arrangement () and at least one control unit (). The radar system () is arranged to transmit signals (), to receive reflected signals (), and to obtain a plurality of measure results from the received reflected signals () along a main field of view () during at least two radar cycles where each radar cycle including a plurality of FMCW ramps. For each radar cycle, the control unit () is arranged to form a spectrum density map () from measuring points () along the main field of view (), where each measure result results in a measuring point (). The control unit () is arranged to combine at least two spectrum density maps to form a combined spectrum density map.

Vehicle radar for environmental detection

A vehicle radar system () that is arranged to detect a plurality of objects outside a vehicle () and that includes a radar detector () and a processing unit arrangement (). The processing unit arrangement () is arranged to obtain at least one total detection angle (&#x3c6;, &#x3c6;') relative an x-axis () and at least one corresponding detected target Doppler velocity (v) relative the radar detector () for each detected object (). Each detected object is classified as moving or stationary, and a relation is determined between the stationary detections and the total number of detections. The processing unit arrangement () further is adapted to determine whether the radar detector () is misaligned based on the relation, where the total detection angle (&#x3c6;, &#x3c6;&#x2032;) equals the sum of a known mounting angle (&#x3c6;) between the x-axis () and the radar detector's mounting direction (), and a detection angle (&#x3c6;, &#x3c6;&#x2032;).
