A liquid crystal display comprising a display region, a control unit, a plurality of source drivers located along a first direction, and a plurality of gate drivers located along a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. A driving method of the liquid crystal display comprises dividing the display region into a plurality of screen regions with each screen region is in correspondence with one source driver or one gate driver; according to the display characteristics of the screen regions. The control unit generates a plurality of regulated signals for changing the output voltage value of the corresponding driver or changing the operating time of the corresponding driver. The regulated signal are sent to the corresponding driver.

Driving method of liquid crystal display

A flat panel display includes a data interface, a scaler control circuit, and a pulse generator configured to provide an independent pulse signal to the scaler control circuit. The data interface is configured to receive an image signal including a vertical synchronization pulse signal and a horizontal synchronization pulse signal. The scaler control circuit is configured to determine a vertical resolution of the image signal by counting a number of pulses of the independent pulse signal respectively between two adjacent vertical synchronization pulses and between two adjacent horizontal synchronization pulses. A method for detecting a resolution of an image signal received by the flat panel display is also provided.

An exemplary liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal panel, a common voltage generator, and a common voltage regenerator. The liquid crystal panel includes liquid crystal capacitors and storage capacitors. Each liquid crystal capacitor includes a common electrode. Each storage capacitor includes a storage electrode. The common voltage generator is configured to provide a common voltage to the storage electrode. The common voltage regenerator is configured to receive a common feedback voltage from the storage electrode, generate a common regenerative voltage according to the common feedback voltage, and provide the common regenerative voltage to the common electrode.

An exemplary driving circuit () includes: gate lines (); data lines (); pixel units (); a gate driving circuit (); a data driving circuit (); a signal output circuit configured for providing a set of signals in each frame, each signal in the set of signals selectively being a black signal or a white signal; and a select output circuit () configured for receiving the data signals from the data driving circuit and the set of signals from the signal output circuit. When a signal of the set of signals provided by the signal output circuit is a black signal, the select output circuit provides the black signal to a corresponding data line. When a signal of the set of signals provided by the signal output circuit is a white signal, the select output circuit provides a corresponding one of the data signals to the corresponding data line.
