In one embodiment, a node of a data centric network (DCN) may receive a first service request interest packet from another node of the DCN, the first service request interest packet indicating a set of functions to be performed on source data to implement a service. The node may determine that it can perform a particular function of the set of functions, and determine, based on a backlog information corresponding to the particular function, whether to commit to performing the particular function or to forward the service request interest packet to another node. The node may make the determination further based on service delivery information indicating, for each face of the node, a service delivery distance for implementing the set of functions.

Queuing control for distributed compute network orchestration

System and techniques for information centric network (ICN) distributed path selection are described herein. An ICN node transmits a probes message to other ICN nodes. The ICN node receives a response to the probe message and derives a path strength metric from the response. Later, when a discovery packet is received by the ICN node, the path strength metric is added to the discovery packet.

Systems and techniques for cross-layer automated fault tracking and anomaly detection are described herein. Anomaly data may be obtained from a plurality of layers of a network. Elements of the anomaly data may be identified that correspond to a data flow of an application executing on the network. An artificial intelligence model may be trained using the elements of the anomaly data to generate an impact score for the application. The impact score may be generated for the application by evaluating current network metrics using the artificial intelligence model. An operational component of the network may be modified based on the impact score.

Cross-layer automated fault tracking and anomaly detection

System and techniques for geographic routing are described herein. A node receives a data packet that includes map data, a sequence of geographic areas to a requestor, and a target geographic area. The node may then determine that it is within the target geographic area and start a transmit timer based on a next-hop geographic area. Here, the next-hop geographic area is determined from the sequence of geographic areas in the data packet. The node may then counts how many other nodes from the geographic area sent data packets while the transmit timer is running. When the transmit timer expires, the node may transmit a modified data packet when the number of data packets is less than a predefined threshold. Here, the modified data packet is the data packet updated to include local map data and the next-hop geographic area.

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to latency reduction. The device may set up a plurality of links between an access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) and a non-AP MLD. The device may encode a frame for transmission on a first link of the plurality of links between a first AP of the AP MLD and a first STA of the non-AP MLD. The device may identify an indication received at a second STA of the non-AP MLD using an interference mitigation signal. The device may cause to stop the transmission of the frame on the first link based on the indication. The device may identify a second frame on the first link received from the first AP. The device may cause to resume the transmission of the first frame on the first link.

Mechanisms to reduce the worst-case latency for ultra-low latency applications

System and techniques for storage node recruitment in an information centric network (ICN) are described herein. An ICN node receives a storage interest packet that includes an indication differentiating the storage interest from other ICN interests. The ICN node forwards the storage interest packet and receives a storage data packet in response. Here, the storage data packet includes an indication that the storage data packet is not to be cached along with node information for a node that created the storage data packet. The ICN node may then transmit the storage data packet in accordance with a pending interest table (PIT) entry corresponding to the storage interest packet.

Storage node recruitment in an information centric network

System and techniques for information centric network unstructured data carrier are described herein. A user plane function (UPF) node receives an initiation for a packet data unit (PDU) session of user equipment (UE). Here, the initiation includes an indication for an ICN session and a PDU session identification (ID). The PDU session may then map the PDU session to the PDU session ID in an ICN routing data structure. Here, the ICN routing data structure is one or both of the pending interest table (PIT) or the forwarding interest base (FIB) of the UPF node. An ICN packet (interest or data packet) may be from the UE contained within a PDU on from the PDU session that conforms to an unstructured-data classification as defined by a 3GPP 5G family of standards. The ICN packet is extracted from the PDU and routed in accordance with the ICN routing data structure.

System and techniques for capability discovery in an information centric network (ICN) are described herein. An ICN node receives a discovery packet that includes a discovery type corresponding to an indication of a node capability requested by a source node of the discovery packet. First capability data, from an intermediate node, is extracted from the discovery packet. The first capability data is stored locally by ICN node. Second capability data from the ICN node is added to the discovery packet to create an expanded discovery packet. The expanded discovery packet is then communicated by the ICN node.

Capability discovery in an information centric network

Technology is disclosed for a vehicle-capable user equipment (vUE) operable for sensing-based distributed scheduling 5 of event-based mission critical (MC) vehicle-to everything (V2X) traffic. The vUE can sense sidelink control information (SCI) for semi persistent scheduling (SPS) resource selection from one or more SCI messages received in one or more physical sidelink control channels (PSCCHs) from one or more neighboring vUEs. The vUE can identify: a number of MC resources to transmit event10 based MC data with a selected number of repetitions within a latency budget, wherein the MC resources include one or more of MC-SCI or MC data with the selected number of repetitions; and a number of available resources to transmit event-based MC data within the latency budget. The vUE can select revocable resources from one or more scheduled low-priority resources based on the sensed SCI for SPS resource selection.

Sensing-based distributed scheduling of event-based mission critical (MC) vehicle-to-everything (V2X) traffic

Systems and techniques for information centric network (ICN) interworking are described herein. For example, a request may be received at a convergence layer of a node. Here, the request originates from an application on the node. A network protocol, from several available to the node, may be determined to transmit the request. The node then transmits the request via the selected network protocol.

Systems and methods for dynamic compute orchestration include receiving, at a network node of an information centric network, a first interest packet comprising a name field indicating a named function and one or more constraints specifying compute requirements for a computing node to execute the named function, the first interest packet received from a client node. A plurality of computing nodes are identified that satisfy the compute requirements for executing the named function. The first interest packet is forwarded to at least some of the plurality of computing nodes. Data packets are received from at least some of the plurality of computing nodes in response to the first interest packet. One of the plurality of computing nodes is selected based on the received data packets, and a second interest packet is sent to the selected one of the plurality of computing nodes instructing the selected one of the plurality of compute nodes to execute the named function.

Systems and techniques for machine generation of content names in an information centric network (ICN) are described herein. For example, a node may obtain content. An inference engine may be invoked to produce a name for the content. Once the content is named, the node may respond to an interest packet that includes the name of the content. The response is a data packet that includes the content.

Systems and techniques for quality-of-service (QoS) in cellular information centric network (ICN) are described herein. An example system includes processing circuitry, and a memory that includes instructions, the instructions, when executed by the processing circuitry, cause the processing circuitry to obtain QoS characteristics for an ICN packet, apply the QoS characteristics to the ICN packet, and transmit the ICN packet over the cellular ICN in accordance with the QoS characteristics.

For example, a requestor node may transmit an admission probe interest packet. Here, the admission probe interest packet includes a name that includes a function. The admission probe interest packet also includes a metric of a parameter of the function. In response, the requestor node may receive a manifest data packet. The manifest includes a metric of function execution at a node that created the manifest data packet. The manifest also includes a name of an implementation of the function. The requestor node may then determine that the metric of function execution meets a threshold and transmit an interest packet that includes the name of the implementation of the function.

Efficient remote function execution in an information centric network

To address technical problems facing managing multiple sources of information from multiple vehicles, vehicular computing power may be exploited to process such information before sharing with others, which may help reduce network traffic overhead. A technical solution to improve this information processing over vehicular networks by using a hybrid Named Function Network (NFN) and Information Centric Network (ICN), such as in a hybrid NFN/ICN. An NFN may be used to orchestrate computations in a highly dynamic environment after decomposing the computations into a number of small functions. A function may include a digitally signed binary supplied by a car vendor or other trusted authority and executed within a controlled environment, such as a virtual machine, container, Java runtime-environment, or other controlled environment.
