A chain tension control apparatus for preventing a chain chattering in a power transmission system including main and subordinate sprockets and a chain connecting the main and subordinates sprockets. The apparatus maintains a chain tension by sensing a chain release and accordingly driving an electromagnet in accordance with a compensation signal that responds to chain release factors, and the chain tension in the apparatus is maintained by disposing a permanent magnet adjacent to the chain, thereby preventing chain vibration and noise from occurring.

In a sprocket buffer, in order to reduce a noise and a shake/vibration of the chain gearing mechanism, an elastic band is provided to be adhered in a bottom of the sprockets; a cylindric pin which is to be inserted into the coupling hole in the bottom of the sprockets is formed in a lower part of the elastic band, and a pressure portion having the same diameter as that of the coupling hole is formed integrally with the cylindrical pin at a lower portion of the outer peripheral surface of the pin, thereby improving a durability against a cut off of the pin head portion.

A terminal rail for a passenger conveyor including an inner and outer guide rails is disclosed. According to the terminal rail, a portion on which the rear wheel roller is initially contacted with the outer guide rail includes a damper placed between an end of a straight portion of the outer guide rail and a desired position of a turning portion to damp impact produced when the rear wheel roller of the step travels from the inner guide rail to the outer guide rail of the terminal rail.

The system completely eliminates the noise and vibration caused by an impact of the step rear rollers on the upper casing of the terminal rail.

A terminal rail system for an escalator includes an escalator step having a step front roller and a step rear roller, an upper guide rail for guiding the step front roller, a lower guide rail for guiding the step rear roller, a semicircular inner casing and outer casing that are connected to each other by a side plate and engaged to a curved portion of the lower guide rail for guiding the step rear roller through a channel formed between the casings, a buffer attached to the semicircular outer casing to reduce an impact caused by the proceeding step rear roller. The terminal rail system decreases an impact resulting from the step rear roller, thereby decreasing pulsation or vibration of the step and obtaining an extended longevity of the step rear roller and the terminal rail.
