An electronic device includes a capacitive sense array and is coupled to a stylus including a conductive tip and a conductive wire module. The conductive tip and wire module of the stylus are driven by a tip drive signal and a wire drive signal simultaneously. The tip and wire drive signals have a single stylus drive frequency. While the conductive tip and wire module are driven by the tip and wire drive signals, the electronic device scans the capacitive sense array to obtain a plurality of capacitive sense signals from a plurality of sense electrodes of the capacitive sense array. The electronic device generates a composite image of the capacitive sense array based on the plurality of capacitive sense signals and processes the composite image to determine one or more orientation parameters (e.g., a tilt angle) of the stylus with respect to a surface of the capacitive sense array.

Methods and systems for determining stylus orientation information

Embodiments described herein include a method for using multiple filtered images. The method includes acquiring changes of capacitance in a sensing region at a plurality of sensor electrodes in a capacitive sensor. The method also includes generating a capacitive frame based on the changes of capacitance and calculating one or more filtered capacitive frames by modifying the capacitive frame with a spatial filter. The method also includes performing clump detection on the one or more filtered capacitive frames, where clump detection includes detecting locations in each filtered capacitive frame exceeding a first threshold near locations that exceed a second threshold in the corresponding capacitive frame.

Capacitive sensing with high pass filtering for segmentation

A processing system for hybrid rejection includes a sensor module coupled to sensor electrodes, and configured to acquire sensing data using the sensor electrodes. The system further includes a determination module configured to obtain a capacitive image of a sensing region based on the sensing data, determine a input object set in the sensing region using the capacitive image, obtain a profile of the sensing region based on the sensing data, and determine a contiguous region width of a contiguous region in the profile. The contiguous region corresponds to a input object in the input object set. The determination module is further configured to filter the input object from the input object set based on the contiguous region width satisfying a size threshold to obtain a filtered input object set, and process the filtered input object set.

Using hybrid signal for large input object rejection

A method and apparatus provide signal compression for transfer over serial data links in a base transceiver system (BTS) of a wireless communication network. For the uplink, an RF unit of the BTS applies frequency domain compression of baseband signal samples, resulting from analog to digital conversion of received analog signals followed by digital downconversion, forming compressed coefficients. After transfer over the serial data link, the baseband processor then applies frequency domain decompression to the compressed coefficients prior to normal signal processing. For the downlink, the baseband processor applies frequency domain compression of baseband signal samples and transfers the compressed coefficients to the RF unit. The RF unit applies frequency domain decompression to the compressed coefficients prior to digital upconversion and digital to analog conversion, generating the analog signal for transmission over the antenna. A method and apparatus provides OFDM signal compression for transfer over serial data links in a base transceiver system (BTS) of a wireless communication network. OFDM signal processing in a base transceiver system

A method and apparatus compress projection data and store the compressed projection data in a rotatable part that is mounted for rotation within a stationary part. The data acquisition source, compressor and storage device are connected to the rotatable part. The compressor compresses projection data samples provided by the data acquisition source to form compressed packets. The compressed packets are stored in the storage device, for example one or more solid state drives mounted on the rotatable part. A data access array contains information related to the location of the stored compressed packets. Compressed packets are retrieved and transferred across the interface to the stationary part. A decompressor at the stationary part decompresses the received compressed packets to form decompressed samples of the corresponding projection data. Compression and storage of projection data in a rotatable part of a computed tomography system

A computed tomography system has a stationary part, a rotatable part mounted for rotation around an object to be examined and an interface between the stationary part and the rotatable part. The rotatable part includes an x-ray source, a sensor array for detecting x-rays passing through the object to produce projection data samples, a compressor that compresses the projection data samples and a storage device that stores the compressed samples. The storage device on the rotatable part can include one or more solid state drives. For image reconstruction, the compressed samples are retrieved from the storage device, transferred across the interface to the stationary part. A decompressor at the stationary part decompresses the received compressed samples and provides decompressed samples to the image reconstruction processor. Compression and storage of projection data in a computed tomography system

A compression subsystem for a computed tomography system compresses projection data to for efficient data transfer and storage. The compression includes detecting edges in the projection data corresponding to the object being imaged to set boundaries for compression operations. The edge detection compares difference samples to positive and negative thresholds to determine the boundaries. The projection samples or the difference samples are compressed between the boundaries. The boundaries are encoded and included in the compressed data. The compressed samples are decompressed prior to image reconstruction processing. Edge detection for computed tomography projection data compression

A compression subsystem for a computed tomography system compresses projection data to for efficient data transfer and storage. The compression includes applying an attenuation profile to an array of projection data samples. The attenuation profile is a function of sample coordinates and determines attenuation values applied to the samples. The attenuated samples are encoded and packed for data transfer. Alternatively, difference operators are applied to the attenuated samples and the differences are encoded. The average number of bits per compressed sample is monitored and the attenuation profiles can be modified to achieve a desired number of bits per compressed sample. The compressed samples are decompressed prior to image reconstruction processing. Decompression includes decoding the compressed samples and applying a gain profile to the decoded samples to restore the original dynamic range.
