Quantitative susceptibility mapping methods, systems and computer-accessible medium include generating images of tissue magnetism property from complex magnetic resonance imaging data using the Bayesian inference approach. The tissue magnetism images is then used to monitor remyelination, such as remyelination in multiple sclerosis patients in response to therapy. Multiple sclerosis lesions defined on magnetic resonance imaging are further characterized on tissue magnetism images into hyperintense, isointense and hypointense parts for measuring remyelination. Thus, magnetic susceptibility information and other tissue properties associated with at least one structure are determined.

Exemplary methods for quantitative mapping of physical properties, systems and computer-accessible medium can be provided to generate images of tissue magnetic susceptibility, transport parameters and oxygen consumption from magnetic resonance imaging data using the Bayesian inference approach, which minimizes a data fidelity term under a constraint of a structure prior knowledge. System and method of perceptive quantitative mapping of physical properties

Exemplary quantitative susceptibility mapping methods, systems and computer-accessible medium can be provided to generate images of tissue magnetism property from complex magnetic resonance imaging data using the Bayesian inference approach, which minimizes a cost function consisting of a data fidelity term and two regularization terms. The data fidelity term is constructed directly from the complex magnetic resonance imaging data. The first prior is constructed from matching structures or information content in known morphology. The second prior is constructed from a region having an approximately homogenous and known susceptibility value and a characteristic feature on anatomic images. The quantitative susceptibility map can be determined by minimizing the cost function. Thus, according to the exemplary embodiment, system, method and computer-accessible medium can be provided for determining magnetic susceptibility information associated with at least one structure.

System and method of robust quantitative susceptibility mapping

Systems and methods for Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP) emulsion polymerization are provided. The ATRP emulsion polymerization comprises a suspending medium, a dispersed medium, a surfactant, a transition metal compound in a higher oxidation state, a ligand, and an ATRP initiator. The transition metal compound is capable of forming a catalyst complex in a presence of the ligand. The catalyst complex is soluble in the suspending medium and is capable of forming an ionic complex with the surfactant. The ionic complex is capable of moving between the suspending medium and the dispersed medium. A portion of the transition metal compound in the higher oxidation state within a portion of the catalyst complex is reduced by a physical and/or a chemical procedure thereby initiating a polymerization of one or more radically (co)polymerizable monomers by reaction with the initiator.

Provided herein is a two-component photosensitizer, which demonstrated robust and selective killing effects for transfected HEK cells and affibody targeted A431 cancer cells when exposed to near infrared light excitation. Free MG2I is a pure and stable fluorogen; it is easy to synthesize and modify, and has no toxicity to cells. Unlike conventional photosensitizers, the dye and FAP itself has no photosensitizing effect until they are bound. Also unlike other activation methods, the activation step is achieved by adding the fluorogen, not the presence of the targeted molecule, requiring an 'active' activation instead of a 'passive' activation. This method offers the ability to locally switch-on and selective generation of singlet oxygen at the target site and can be used for a wide variety of molecular targets.

A method for identifying an attribute of an object represented in an image comprising data defining a predetermined spatial granulation for resolving the object, where the object is in contact with another object. In an embodiment, the method comprises identifying data whose values indicate they correspond to locations completely within the object, determining a contribution to the attribute provided by the data, and identifying additional data whose values indicate they are not completely within the object. The method next interpolates second contributions to the attribute from the values of the additional data and finds the attribute of the object from the first contribution and second contributions. The attribute may be, for example, a volume, and the values may correspond, for example, to intensity.

For optimal image quality in susceptibility-weighted imaging and accurate quantification of susceptibility, it is necessary to isolate the local field generated by local magnetic sources (such as iron) from the background field that arises from imperfect shimming and variations in magnetic susceptibility of surrounding tissues (including air). We present a nonparametric background field removal method based on projection onto dipole fields in which the background field inside an ROI is decomposed into a field originating from dipoles outside the ROI using the projection theorem in Hilbert space.

A method and apparatus is provided for magnetic source magnetic resonance imaging. The method includes collecting energy signals from an object, providing additional information of characteristics of the object, and generating the image of the object from the energy signals and from the additional information such that the image includes a representation of a quantitative estimation of the characteristics, e.g a quantitative estimation of magnetic susceptibility. The additional information may comprise predetermined characteristics of the object, a magnitude image generated from the object, or magnetic signals collected from different relative orientations between the object and the imaging system. The image is generated by an inversion operation based on the collected signals and the additional information. The inversion operation minimizes a cost function obtained by combining the data extracted from the collected signals and the additional information of the object. Additionally, the image is used to detect a number of diagnostic features including microbleeds, contract agents and the like.

Apparatus, systems and methods for performing gel electrophoresis using a horizontal monolithic electrophoresis unit that at least includes first and second buffer chambers containing buffer solution and a gel chamber containing a pre-cast flat gel, whereby all of these chambers are integrated into a pre-fabricated single unit that is ready for use. In performing gel electrophoresis, a top seal of this monolithic electrophoresis unit is removed, target samples are loaded into the pre-cast gel, interior walls of the unit are broken to allow buffer from anode and cathode chambers to combine within the gel chamber and cover the loaded gel matrix, a reusable lid is attached to the top surface of the unit, and an electrical connection is provided through the reusable lid into the horizontal monolithic electrophoresis unit for performing electrophoresis on the flat pre-cast gel.
