A window-raising device for a vehicle provides a two-cable winding drum, a hood to support and partially surrounding the drum on a support plate to form a cable passage. A flange extends from the winding drum to support sliding movement of an end of one of the cables. An opening in the flange is defined by an outer side ramp that is angled relative to an axis of rotation of the drum. The ramp is positioned between two walls that are roughly parallel to the axis of the drum and formed below the flange. The present invention thereby permits a reduction in the total height of the winding drum for the same number of grooves. The cable is inserted at an angle relative to the axis of the drum by sliding it on the ramp. Thus, the drum and the device as a whole are made more compact.

A vehicle door is assembled by immobilizing a cable drum with a wedge and then coupling the wedged drum to a drive member. A cable is wound onto the drum either before or after the positioning of the wedge. The A drive member is then coupled to the wedged drum. After coupling, the drive member is fixed to the vehicle door. The window guide structure can also be inserted between the inner panel and an outer panel of the vehicle door. The wedge can be removed from the window guide structure, or alternately, the wedge can be fixed to the window guide structure. Alternately, the method further includes the steps of placing the cable in deflection pulleys before the steps of positioning the wedge and winding the cable. The drive member is pivotally mounted to the inner panel about an axis offset relative to the rotational axis of the drum, and the cable is tensioned by pivoting the drive member about the offset axis. The drive member is then fixed to the inner panel of the vehicle door. Essentially, a pre-assembled intermediate window drive is created that facilitates mounting to the vehicle door.

A mounting plate for an anti-intrusion reinforcement member includes securing features that secure the plate to a vehicle door. The mounting plate also includes a plurality of mounting interfaces for the reinforcement member. The plate can be fitted to different mounting points in the door and to different reinforcement members, simplifying the production of the mounting plate. An anti-intrusion assembly including the plate, and a door with the assembly are also provided.

An anti-side intrusion assembly for a vehicle door includes a reinforcing beam. Anchoring members secured to the reinforcing beam anchor the reinforcing beam to the vehicle frame or chassis. The reinforcing beam extends across the vehicle door and is anchored to the chassis at each end. One of the anchoring members a door hinge, and the other of the anchoring member is a lug generally perpendicular to the reinforcing beam. When the door is closed, the lug extends into a recess provided in a rigid portion of the door frame or chassis. Substantial bending of the reinforcing beam upon side impact on the door is prevented by bearing the lug on the rigid sidewall of the recess.

A window runner includes a clip-in member that engages a hole in a window to attach the window runner to the window. A locking member, in the form of a screw pre-mounted on the runner, is introduced into a central orifice of the clip from the side of the window which faces toward the interior of the vehicle. Flexible tabs extending from the clip lock into the periphery of the window hole. It is therefore extremely difficult to detach the clip from outside the vehicle. In consequence, any unauthorized lowering of the window by detaching the window clip-in member is no longer possible.

The invention relates to a cable-tensioning device associated with a rail (3) having at its ends (4, 5) two points for returning at least one cable (8), characterized in that one (4) of the said ends of the rail includes: a rotary cam (12); a cam-support element (7); a spring (13) coaxial with the cam (12) and having two angularly offset radial tabs (32, 33), a first tab (33) bearing on a stop (19) formed on the support element (7), and the second tab (32) extending inside the cam (12) and being designed to slide over a non-return means (20) arranged on the support element (7) after the cam has rotated through a first travel, this non-return means being shaped to prevent any return of the second tab (32) after the tabs of the spring (13) have become angularly separated by at least the length of the arc between the non-return means (20) and the stop (19), the cable (8) being engaged in grooves (30, 31) formed at the periphery of the cam. This invention has application to motor vehicle door window lifters.
