The coupler optically couples the photoelectric unit to the optical fiber unit. The supporting member defines a through stepped hole having a larger first hole and a smaller second hole. The supporting member includes a step portion between the first hole and the second hole. The second hole is closer to the PCB than the first hole. The supporting member defines a number of positioning holes, and the coupler comprises a number of positioning poles corresponding to the positioning holes. The coupler is connected to the supporting member by inserting the positioning poles into the corresponding positioning holes.

An optical fiber coupling connector includes a board, a light receiving device, two light emitting devices, a controller and an optical coupling lens. The optical coupling lens includes three main bodies, each includes a bottom surface, a top surface, an alignment surface, a first and a second side surface, a third side surface obliquely connected to the first side surface, and a fourth side surface obliquely connected to the second side surface and connected to the third side surface at a second edge. The circuit board includes two positioning portions apart from each other. The light emitting module and the light receiving module are mounted on the circuit board, and are spaced apart from each other. The optical coupling lens includes a bottom surface facing the light emitting module and the light receiving module, two first converging portions formed on the bottom surface, and two locating portions. Centers of the positioning portions are aligned with centers of the locating portions to ensure perfect alignment of the light emitting module and the light receiving module with the first converging portions.

A display device includes display units arranged in an array and a light guide unit. Each display unit includes a display panel including a display surface configured for displaying an image, and a frame located adjacent to edges of the display surface. The light guide unit includes a lower light guide and an upper light guide. The lower light guide is located above the display units, and includes first gratings. Each first grating corresponds to a side of one of the display unit and is configured for refracting light emitted from the display surface towards the corresponding side of the display unit. The upper light guide is located above the lower light guide and includes second gratings. Each second grating corresponds to one of the first gratings and is configured for reversely refracting light transmitted through the first grating towards a center of the display unit.

An optical coupling lens includes three main bodies, the main body further includes a bottom surface, a top surface opposite to the bottom surface, an alignment surface, a first side surface, a second side surface, a third side surface, and a fourth side surface. An optical device includes a light emitting element emitting light signal, a light coupling lens and a light receiving element. The light coupling lens includes a light input surface, a light output surface adjacent to the light input surface and a plurality of total reflective surfaces connected to the light input surface and the light output surface. The light input surface includes a first aspheric protrusion facing the light emitting element. The light output surface includes a second aspheric protrusion. Light signal emitted from the light emitting element enters the light coupling lens and collimated by the first aspheric protrusion to be parallel light signal. The parallel light signal is reflected by the total reflective surface and then collimated by the second aspheric protrusion to be convergent light signal. The light receiving element receives the convergent light signal.

Optical device

A lens for an LED backlight module includes a main lens body and a diffusion structure consisting of a plurality of micro lenses. The main lens body includes a light incident face for receiving light from an LED light source and a light exit face opposite to the light incident face thereof. Light leaves the lens from the light exit face. The micro lenses of the diffusion structure are formed on the light exit face of the main lens body. Each micro lens is annular and has a generally triangular cross section. Each micro lens includes a first light scattering surface and a second light scattering surface intersecting with the first light scattering surface. The micro lenses are arranged in a series of concentric circles with regard to a center of the lens. A backlight module source incorporating the lens and the LED light source is also provided.
