One or more processors are configured receive data associated with a notification from a device experiencing interference on an assigned channel. The one or more processors may determine a coverage area of an antenna providing the assigned channel to the device and determine based on the data associated with the notification, available channels within the coverage area of the antenna. The one or more processors may generate a map based on the data associated with the notification, wherein the map indicates the available channels within the coverage area of the antenna.

In the presence of a network fault condition preventing communication between a communication device and a network device of a first network, a method includes receiving a heartbeat request from the communication device requesting permission for the communication device to perform a device operation. The method further includes obtaining device state data associated with the communication device and determining whether the communication device is permitted to perform the device operation based on the device state data associated with the communication device. When the communication device is permitted to perform the device operation, the method also includes transmitting a heartbeat confirmation signal to the communication device. The heartbeat confirmation signal permits the communication device to perform the device operation.

Method and apparatus for ensuring continued device operational reliability in cloud-degraded mode

In the presence of a network fault condition () preventing communication between a communication device () and a network device () of a first network (), a method () includes receiving a heartbeat request () from the communication device requesting permission for the communication device to perform a device operation. Embodiments of the present disclosure describe systems and methods for hybrid reference signal transmission in wireless communication. In some embodiments, an apparatus may include assignment logic to assign indices to a first set and a second set; identification logic to identify resource elements for a hybrid reference signal in accordance with a first rule for each index in the first set and in accordance with a second rule for each index in the second set, the second rule different from the first rule; and transmission logic to provide the hybrid reference signal for wireless transmission using a common transmission mode in the identified resource elements. Hybrid reference signals for wireless communication

Spectrum access allocation processes and systems are described in which multiple tiers of predetermined transmission powers are enforced, and where access is established by transmission at or below the lowest predetermined transmission power. The allocation processes include provisioning a wireless interface between a spectrum access system and a user equipment that is not registered with the spectrum access system. The wireless interface permits data transfer at or below a first predetermined power setting. A request to register the user equipment with the spectrum access system is transmitted to a spectrum access server. The spectrum access server receives a message from the spectrum access server indicating that the user equipment has been registered with the spectrum access system. The user equipment is controlled to transmit data at a second predetermined power setting that is greater than the first predetermined power setting.

Spectrum access for fixed LTE user equipment

Systems and method are disclosed for obtaining an allocation of spectrum for a wireless access point in a self-organized network. The desirability of available wireless communication channels are ranked and the highest ranked wireless communication channel is initially selected. A request to a spectrum access system is made requesting allocation of the selected channel at a maximum power level. In response to receiving a denial of the request for allocation at the maximum power level, a request is transmitted to the spectrum allocation authority is requesting allocation of the selected channel at a minimum acceptable power level. In response to receiving a grant of an allocation of the selected channel at the minimum acceptable power level, a search is initiated with the spectrum allocation authority for a highest allocable power level for the selected channel.

Embodiments of an eNB and method of transmitting PDCCHs are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the eNB may be configured to transmit PDCCHs that are based on a UE-specific reference signal (i.e., a UE-RS). In these embodiments, the UEs may be able to demodulate their PDCCH using a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) that is specific to the UE (e.g., instead of a common reference signal). The PDCCHs disclosed herein may be suitable the Uu interface of an LTE-A system.

A User Equipment and an eNodeB system are configured for performing interference mitigation in the UE. Input circuitry in the wireless communication device receives an OFDM downlink channel signal associated with a serving cell and receives downlink control information for an interfering cell. The downlink control information is used by the UE to perform channel estimation for the interfering cell. An interference mitigation module is provided for calculating an interference-mitigated version of the received channel signal using estimated channel transfer functions for both the serving cell and the interfering cell, power control parameters and using set of modulation constellation points corresponding to the OFDM downlink channel. An apparatus may include a transceiver operable to receive a downlink message from a base station for a serving cell, the downlink message allocating a set of control parameters. The apparatus may also include a processor circuit communicatively coupled to the transceiver and an uplink power control module operable on the processor circuit to read the set of control parameters, and apply a signal-to-noise-and-interference (SINR) parameter based on the received set of control parameters to determine physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) power to be applied for a PUSCH transmission. System and method of uplink power control in a wireless communication system

A mobile station (MS) to determine signal quality values is disclosed. The MS may include a transmitter and a receiver and the receiver may determine a signal power value, a noise power value, and an interference power value of a signal received from antennas. The receiver may determine the signal power value and the interference value using a second preamble included in a super-frame of the signal, wherein the second preamble includes cell information. The receiver may determine a noise power value of the signal received from the plurality of antennas using unoccupied orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) tones of a first preamble included in the super-frame of the signal, wherein the first preamble includes carrier information. The receiver may also use the fractional frequency reuse (FFR) and MIMO features to determine signal quality values using the signal power value, the noise power value, and the interference power value.
