A tissue adhesive composition comprises a biodegradable adhesive; nanoparticles; and a tissue regenerative agent. Methods of adhering tissue comprise applying a film of the tissue adhesive composition to a first surface of a first biological tissue; contacting a second surface of a second biological tissue with the first surface of the first biological tissue, wherein the film of the composition is positioned between and in contact with both the first surface and the second surface.

Mussel inspired nanocomposite adhesives for biomedical applications

Disclosed herein are hydrogel compositions comprising a triblock copolymer having a formula A-B-A, wherein A is a polycaprolactone (PCL) block or a polyvalerolactone (PVL) block and B is a polyethylene glycol (PEG) block. Also disclosed are methods of making a hydrogel comprising providing a photoinitiator and a triblock copolymer having a formula A-B-A, wherein the triblock copolymer comprises one or more ethylenically unsaturated moieties; and photocrosslinking the triblock copolymer, thereby forming a hydrogel. Also disclosed are methods of printing a three-dimensional (3D) article comprising extruding a printing composition from a deposition nozzle moving relative to a substrate, the printing composition comprising a photoinitiator and any herein disclosed triblock copolymer, wherein the triblock copolymer comprises one or more ethylenically unsaturated moieties; depositing one or more layers comprising the printing composition on the substrate; and photocrosslinking the triblock copolymer to form the printed 3D article.

Biodegradable elastic hydrogels for bioprinting

A tubular tissue graft device is provided comprising a tubular member and a restrictive fiber matrix of a bioerodible polymer about a circumference of the tubular tissue. The matrix may be electrospun onto the tubular tissue. In one embodiment, the tubular tissue is from a vein, such as a saphenous vein, useful as an arterial graft, for example and without limitation, in a coronary artery bypass procedure. Also provided is method of preparing a tubular graft comprising depositing a fiber matrix of a bioerodible polymer about a perimeter of a tubular tissue to produce a tubular tissue graft device. A cardiac bypass method comprising bypassing a coronary artery with a tubular tissue graft device comprising a vein and a restrictive fiber matrix of a bioerodible polymer about a circumference of the vein also is provided.

Bioerodible wraps and uses therefor

Nanoparticles coated with extracellular matrix (ECM) are provided, in some aspects, for the delivery of a therapeutic protein, nucleic acid, or drug. In some embodiments, the nanoparticles are delivered to a subject via inhalation or aerosol delivery. Also provided, in some aspects, are methods for treating acute lung injury comprising administering &#x3b1;-Klotho (&#x3b1;Klotho) protein or DNA to a subject.

Nanoparticles containing extracellular matrix for drug delivery

The present invention provides dopant-free conductive elastomeric polyurethanes that have broad biomedical application, including smart drug delivery, electronics and biomedicine. In various embodiments, a dopant-free conductive, elastomeric polyurethane is designed by covalently conjugating biodegradable segment, conductive segment and dopant molecule into one polymer chain. The dopant-free conductive polyurethanes according to various embodiments of the invention exhibit attractive mechanical properties, including bending, knotting, stretching and recoiling. The biodegradable, conductive elastomer also exhibit good electroactivity and electrical stability without extra dopant involvement.

Dopant-free conductive bioelastomers

A biohybrid scaffold is provided that is useful in clinical applications for abdominal wall reconstruction, pelvic floor repair, breast reconstruction, as well as other soft tissue repairs. Methods of making and using the biohybrid scaffold are provided.

Biohybrid composite scaffold

A cell growth matrix is provided that comprises a biodegradable elastomeric polymer electrodeposited concurrently with a sprayed or electrosprayed liquid that is a physiological solution or which comprises a mammalian blood product such as serum, plasma or platelet rich plasma. The matrix is useful as a cell-growth matrix and for repair of a tissue in a mammal, for instance by implantation in a mammal at a site in need of repair, such as in an abdominal wall.

Wet-electrospun biodegradable scaffold and uses therefor

A method of forming an implantable article includes providing a biodegradable polymer including anti-thrombogenic groups along the length of the biodegradable polymer, biodegradable groups in the backbone of the biodegradable polymer and a plurality of functional groups adapted to react with reactive functional groups on a surface of the implantable article, and reacting at least a portion of the plurality of functional groups with the reactive functional groups on the surface of the implantable article.
