Techniques involve: receiving an input/output request for data stored in a second storage means of a storage system; determining a use frequency of the data; moving the data from the second storage means into a first storage means in the storage system if it is determined that the use frequency is higher than a threshold frequency and the input/output request is a read request, an input/output speed of the first storage means being higher than that of the second storage means; and writing, if it is determined that the use frequency is higher than the threshold frequency and the input/output request is a write request that includes update data, the update data as the data into the first storage means. Accordingly, the storage performance can be improved without affecting the input/output traffic, which not only can reduce the operating cost, but also can improve user experience.

An optical transceiver having an integrated optical time domain reflectometer monitoring unit and methods for using the same are disclosed. The disclosure relates to an optical transceiver comprising an optical device comprising a wavelength division multiplexing system (WDM), a data signal driver, a data signal limiting amplifier, and an optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) data processing module. Furthermore, the optical transceiver is particularly advantageous in an optical line terminal (OLT) and/or a passive optical network (PON). The integrated OTDR data processing module can protect the optical transceiver, ensure successful monitoring data, simplify network wiring and decrease system and network costs by decreasing the number of OTDR modules and WDM units.

Optical transceiver integrated with optical time domain reflectometer monitoring

A circuit for monitoring an optical receiver or transceiver, architectures, circuits, and systems including the same, and a method for monitoring received optical power are disclosed. The receiver monitoring circuit comprises an avalanche photodiode (APD), a microprocessor, and first and second transresistance amplifiers. The microprocessor is configured to supply bias voltage to the APD. Photocurrent produced by the APD is supplied to the first and second transresistance amplifiers, and then the microprocessor captures optical power from the voltage signal of the first and second transresistance amplifiers. By algorithms and microprogramming systems, the circuit for monitoring the optical receiver and method of monitoring optical power enables precision compensation for monitoring burst mode optical power in commercial temperature ranges and powers, and also can be applied to high precision digital monitoring of optical transceivers in a PON system in the commercial temperature range with error values within &#xb1;1 dB.
