Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for scatterer localization and material identification. The method performed by an identification apparatus may comprise: determining (S) a reflection loss of a power of a wireless signal caused by a reflection at an object, for the purpose of identifying a material of the object and localizing a position of the object. The method performed by a reception apparatus may comprise: receiving (S) a wireless signal transmitted from a transmission apparatus and reflected by an object; and transmitting (S), to an identification apparatus, information about the wireless signal. The method performed by a transmission apparatus may comprise: receiving (S) an indication for identifying a material of an object; and transmitting (S) a wireless signal reflected by the object to a reception apparatus.

Method and apparatus for scatterer localization and material identification

A lens antenna, a radio unit and a base station are disclosed. According to an embodiment, the lens antenna comprises an antenna array and a lens unit having a first focal point at a first side of the lens unit and a second focal point at a second side of the lens unit opposite to the first side. The lens unit is able to cause at least part of beams emitted from the antenna array at the first side the lens unit to be converged at the second side of the lens unit.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide method and apparatus for positioning. The method may comprise receiving a first radio signal of a terminal device located in the area from a line of sight (LOS) path between the antenna array and the terminal device; receiving a second radio signal of the terminal device located in the area from at least one path reflected by the reflector; determining respective angles of arrival of the LOS path and the at least one path reflected by the reflector; and determining a location of the terminal device by using triangulation based on the respective angles of arrival.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method in a network element for access controlling. The method comprises receiving an access request message from a terminal device and checking a data structure for maintaining state information of terminal devices from which the network element has received access request messages, in response to the reception of the access request message. The method also comprises determining whether the requesting terminal device is abnormal based on said checking of the data structure and rejecting the access request of the requesting terminal device in response to determining that the requesting terminal device is abnormal.
