A micro pick-up array used to pick up a micro device is provided. The micro pick-up array includes a substrate, a pick-up structure, and a soft polymer layer. The pick-up structure is located on the substrate. The pick-up structure includes a cured photo sensitive material. The soft polymer layer covers the pick-up structure. A manufacturing method of a micro pick-up array is also provided.

A display device and a manufacturing method of a display device are provided. The display device includes a substrate, a plurality of first light-emitting elements, and at least one second light-emitting element. The first light-emitting elements are arranged on the substrate. A plurality of first electrodes are provided on a surface of each of the first light-emitting elements facing away from the substrate. The second light-emitting element is disposed on the substrate. A plurality of second electrodes are provided on a surface of the second light-emitting element facing away from the substrate. An orthographic projection of the second light-emitting element on the substrate partially overlaps orthographic projections of the first light-emitting elements on the substrate.

Light-emitting diode display

A transfer device including a first electrode set, a second electrode set, a shielding element, a driving circuit and an elastomer is provided. The first electrode set includes a first electrode configured to receive a first voltage and a second electrode configured to receive a second voltage and structurally separated from the first electrode, wherein a voltage difference exists between the first voltage and the second voltage. The second electrode set disposed adjacent to the first electrode set includes a third electrode configured to receive a third voltage and a fourth electrode configured to receive a fourth voltage and structurally separated from the third electrode, wherein a voltage difference exists between the third voltage and the fourth voltage. The shielding element is disposed on a substrate and located between the first electrode set and the second electrode set. The driving circuit is electrically connected to the first electrode set and the second electrode set. The elastomer covers the first electrode set and the second electrode set, wherein the elastomer has a transfer surface.

Transfer device

A light emitting device includes a substrate, an adhesion layer, a micro light emitting device (&#x3bc;LED), a first conductive layer, and a second conductive layer. A light emitting surface of the &#x3bc;LED is away from the substrate. The &#x3bc;LED includes a first semiconductive layer, a second semiconductive layer, a tether layer, a first electrode, and a second electrode. The tether layer covers a portion of sidewalls of the first semi-conductive layer, a portion of a bottom surface of the first semi-conductive layer, sidewalls of the second semiconductive layer, and a portion of a bottom surface of the second semiconductive layer. The first electrode and the second electrode are respectively electrically connected to the first semiconductive layer and the second semiconductive layer. The first conductive layer and the second conductive layer are respectively electrically connected to the first electrode and the second electrode.

Light emitting device and manufacturing method thereof

An in-plane switching liquid crystal display having a plurality of protrude electrodes of a special shape is disclosed. Each of the protrusion electrodes has a protrusion body with a surface coated with an electrically conductive material. The protrusion body has flat side located on the lower substrate of the liquid crystal display, defining the basewidth of the protrusion electrodes. The protrusion body has a top portion with a round head and a bottom portion with a waist portion, smaller than the basewidth. It has been found that, the round head of the top portion and the waist portion of the bottom portion can improve the efficiency of the optical transmissivity of the liquid crystal layer as well the contrast between the bright state and the dark state of the display.

In-plane switching liquid crystal display

An in-plane switching liquid crystal display has a plurality of protrusion electrodes. Each of the protrusion electrodes has a protrusion body with a surface coated with an electrically conductive layer made from a metal oxide. An adhesion-enhancement medium is provided between the electrically conductive layer and the surface of the protrusion body. The adhesion-enhancement medium comprises a metal such as aluminum or molybdenum or a metal alloy containing molybdenum and at least one of niobium, tantalum, titanium, zirconium, tungsten, aluminum and nitride or a metal alloy containing aluminum and at least one of niobium, tantalum, titanium, zirconium, tungsten, molybdenun and nitride. The protrusion body can have the shape of a rectangle, triangle, bell, rectangle with a round top, or a cross sectional area having a top portion with a round or flat head and a bottom portion with a waist portion, smaller than the basewidth.

In-plane switching display having protrusion electrodes with metal enhanced adhesion

Liquid crystal display (LCD) systems and related methods with pixel elements driven at different frequencies are provided. A representative LCD system includes: a plurality of pixel elements arranged in an array, each of the plurality of pixel elements having a first sub-region and a second sub-region; a low-frequency driving circuit operative to drive each of the first sub-regions; and a high-frequency driving circuit operative to drive each of the second sub-regions at a driving frequency different than a driving frequency of the low-frequency driving circuits; wherein the first sub-regions exhibit a different size than the second sub-regions.

Liquid crystal display systems and related methods with pixel elements driven at different frequencies

A liquid crystal display (LCD) panel includes a first substrate, electrode patterns, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal (LC) layer. The electrode patterns are located on the first substrate, and a lateral electric field is generated via the electrode patterns according to a driving voltage. The second substrate is located opposite to the first substrate. The LC layer is located between the first and second substrates and includes a voltage driven LC layer and an induced LC layer. The voltage driven LC layer is located on the electrode patterns and is driven by the driving voltage to be optically anisotropic or optically isotropic. The induced LC layer is located between the voltage driven LC layer and the second substrate and induced to be optically anisotropic when the voltage driven LC layer is driven to be optically anisotropic. A thickness of the LC layer is larger than 4 &#x3bc;m.

Liquid crystal display panel

A representative LCD system includes: liquid crystal material disposed between first and second substrates; protrusions supported by the first substrate and arranged in an array, each of the protrusions extending from a base; first pixel electrodes, with a corresponding one of the first pixel electrodes being positioned adjacent the base of a corresponding one of the protrusions; first common electrodes, with a corresponding one of the first common electrodes being positioned adjacent the base of a corresponding one of the protrusions such that each of the protrusions is positioned between one of the first pixel electrodes and one of the first common electrodes; second pixel electrodes, with a corresponding one of the second pixel electrodes being positioned on a corresponding one of the protrusions; and second common electrodes, with a corresponding one of the second common electrodes being positioned on a corresponding one of the protrusions.

Liquid crystal display systems and related methods

A display apparatus including a display panel, a first polarizer and a second polarizer is provided. The display panel includes a pixel array substrate, an opposite substrate and a display medium. The pixel array substrate includes a plurality of pixel units. Each pixel unit includes a first electrode and a second electrode. The first electrode and the second electrode are alternately arranged and a lateral electric field is existed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The opposite substrate is disposed opposite to the pixel array substrate. The display medium is disposed between the pixel array substrate and the opposite substrate. The first polarizer is disposed on the pixel array substrate. The second polarizer is disposed on the opposite substrate. An included angle between an optical axis of the first polarizer and an optical axis of the second polarizer is 90&#xb0;&#xb1;&#x3b8;, and &#x3b8; is 1&#xb0; to 9&#xb0;.

Display apparatus

An optical film and a display device having the same are provided. The optical film has a light input face, a light output face opposite to the light input face, and a light-output structure disposed on the light output face. The light-output structure includes a plurality of light output microstructures such as prisms disposed side by side along a first direction on the light output face. Each prism has a first quadrilateral cross section parallel to the first direction. A first side of the quadrilateral cross section is connected to the light output face and includes a first angle with the light output face, wherein the first angles of the prisms continuously arranged have angle values varying in a periodic manner.

Optical film and display device having the same

A blue phase liquid crystal display panel and a fabricating method thereof are provided. A first substrate and a second substrate are provided, and then a blue phase liquid crystal composition is filled between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the blue phase liquid crystal composition includes a blue phase liquid crystal and a reactive monomer. Next, an irradiation process is performed to induce a polymerization reaction in the reactive monomer of the blue phase liquid crystal composition, wherein a light utilized in the irradiation process has a wavelength ranged from 200 nm to 350 nm.

Blue phase liquid crystal display panel and fabricating method thereof

A liquid crystal display includes an upper substrate, a lower substrate, a liquid crystal layer disposed between the upper and lower substrates and including liquid crystal molecules with optical isotropicity, a first polarizer disposed on a surface of the upper substrate, having a first polarization direction, a second polarizer disposed on a surface of the lower substrate, having a second polarization direction, and at least one pixel region defined on the lower substrate. The pixel region includes at least one pixel electrode disposed on the lower substrate, the pixel electrode extending along a first direction in the pixel region and a majority portion of an edge of the pixel electrode substantially being parallel to at least one of the first polarization direction and the second polarization direction.

Liquid crystal display with particular structure for the pixel electrode and the common electrode

A pigment is dispersed in a solvent by mixing the pigment nanoparticles with clay in a layered or platelet form and mixing the resultant mixture with the solvent. The method is based on geometric inhomogeneity and mutually exclusive aggregation. The layered or platelet clay having a high aspect ratio is provided to hinder aggregation of the pigment nanoparticles. The pigment nanoparticles can be stably dispersed in a matrix containing an organic solvent and water without aggregation again.
