A DRAM-based storage device includes a DRAM and a control circuit. The DRAM includes a buffering area and a host accessing area. A data is stored in the host accessing area. The control circuit is electrically connected with the DRAM. The control circuit copies a portion of the data from the host accessing area to the buffering area at a predetermined time interval counted by the control circuit. Before the portion of the data is written to the buffering area, a first ECC decoding operation is performed on the portion of the data to correct error bits contained therein. If the portion of the data is corrected, the control circuit rewrites the corrected portion of the data into the host accessing area.

DRAM-based storage device and associated data processing method

A region descriptor management method and an electronic apparatus are provided. The region descriptor management method is adapted to a device controller of the electronic apparatus and includes following steps. Region descriptor entries are fetched from a region descriptor table. Each of the region descriptor entries includes a block initial address and a block length to describe a memory block of a memory module. According to the block initial addresses and the block lengths of the region descriptor entries, a portion of the region descriptor entries are adjusted to be at least one current region descriptor entry. Based on the at least one current region descriptor entry, a current region descriptor table is generated.

A data transmission control method for a storage device is provided. The storage device is in communication with a host through a SATA bus. The data transmission control method includes the following steps. Firstly, a X_RDY primitive is issued from the storage device to the host. After a R_RDY primitive from the host is received by the from the storage device, a first frame is transmitted to the host. After the first frame is completely transmitted and in a specified time period before a second frame is transmitted, plural SYNC primitives are issued from the storage device to the host. If the host does not issue the X_RDY primitive in the specified time period, the second frame is transmitted to the host.

A solid state storage device receives a device sleep signal and a power signal from a host. The solid state storage device includes a control chip, a sleep control circuit, and a regulator. If the device sleep signal is activated, the control chip temporarily stores a system parameter into a flash memory module and then generates an acknowledge signal. The sleep control circuit receives the power signal, the device sleep signal and the acknowledge signal. If both of the device sleep signal and the acknowledge signal are activated, the sleep control circuit generates a disable state and a wake-up state. Moreover, if the power signal is received by the regulator and the sleep control circuit generates the disable state, the regulator stops providing a supply voltage to the control chip, so that the solid state storage device enters a sleep mode.

An ultrasonic system including an ultrasonic transmitter and an ultrasonic receiver is provided. The ultrasonic transmitter emits a transmission signal, which includes a synchronous burst and multiple data bursts. The ultrasonic receiver receives a synchronous echo, and determines whether the amplitude of the synchronous echo is larger than a first threshold. If the amplitude of the synchronous echo is larger than the first threshold, then the ultrasonic receiver interprets the multiple data echoes corresponding to the data bursts to obtain a digital signal.

The ultrasonic lamp emits a first burst, and detects whether a first echo is received within a fixed period of time after the emission of the first burst. Then, the completion of the first layer-jumping procedure is determined according to the second focusing error signal, for example when the second focusing error signal passes the zero crossing point and exceeds a threshold level. A method of tray ejecting force control for a tray-type optical drive is disclosed. A preliminary input voltage is provided to a DC motor of the tray-type optical drive to perform a preliminary ejection of a tray-type optical drive tray during a preliminary time period. When the preliminary time period is shorter than a predetermined time period, a first voltage smaller than the preliminary input voltage is provided to the DC motor to eject the tray. Alternately, when the preliminary time period is longer than the predetermined time period, a second voltage greater than the first voltage is provided to the DC motor for to eject the tray.

The present invention discloses a tray-out control method for moving out a loading tray of an optical drive. A first forcing function is applied to the loading tray to overcome a lesser magnetic attraction when an optical disk is placed on the loading tray. A second forcing function is applied to the loading tray to overcome a greater magnetic attraction when the optical disk is not placed on the loading tray. A maximum value of the second forcing function is larger than a maximum value of the first forcing function.

Tray-out control method for moving out a loading tray of an optical drive

The present invention discloses a method of adjusting a rotation speed of an optical disc drive for a spindle motor controlled by a host to rotate and read an optical disc. First, it is determined whether the data read by the optical disc drive is in Mode 1 or Form 1 of Mode 2. If in Mode 1 or Form 1 of Mode 2, it is determined whether the frequency of read request commands output from the host is lower than a predetermined value or not. If the frequency of read request commands output from the host is lower than the predetermined value, then it is determined whether the response data output to the host is sequential reading data or not. If the three situations mentioned above are all sustained, the data read by the optical disc drive is ascertained as MP3 data. Thus, the rotation speed of the spindle motor is decreased to a lower value. If one of the three situations is not sustained, the optical disc drive rotates at its highest speed to enhance the quantity of data read between the optical disc drive and the host. Thus, the rotation speed of the optical disc drive is adjusted automatically in response to the data transmission rate.
