The present invention provides a receiver including a first band group, a second band group and a mixer. The first band group includes at least one LNA, wherein the first band group is configured to select one first LNA to receive a first input signal to generate an amplified first input signal. The second band group includes at least one LNA, wherein the second band group is configured to select one second LNA to receive a second input signal to generate an amplified second input signal. The first band group and the second band group are coupled to a first input terminal and a second input terminal of the mixer, respectively, and the mixer receives one of the amplified first input signal and the amplified second input signal to generate an output signal.

Band sharing technique of receiver

A communication unit includes a plurality of parallel radio frequency, RF, signal paths. Located between a first RF signal path of the plurality of parallel RF signal paths comprising at least one first RF amplifier and a second signal path comprising at least one second RF amplifier is one of a shared inductor or shared transformer. The at least one first RF amplifier is coupled to a supply voltage via a first switch and at least one second RF amplifier is coupled to the supply voltage via a second switch, and the first switch is closed that provides the supply voltage to the at least one second RF amplifier whilst the second switch is opened.

Transformer or inductor sharing in a radio frequency amplifier and method therefor

A programmable gain MOS amplifier is disclosed. The programmable gain MOS amplifier is capable of increasing its programmable gain linearly in dB unit by increasing its gain level data linearly. The programmable gain MOS amplifier includes a plurality of gain providers for providing predetermined gains respectively, and a plurality of gain tuners. Each of the plurality of the gain tuners is disposed for adjusting the predetermined gain from the corresponding gain provider. Each of the gain tuners includes a gain enabling module and a gain decreasing module. The gain enabling module allows the corresponding predetermined gain to add to the programmable gain of the MOS amplifier. The gain decreasing module declines the corresponding predetermined gain added to the programmable gain of the MOS amplifier.

Programmable gain MOS amplifier

A programmable gain current amplifier is provided, including a transistor pair, a plurality of differential pairs, and a control device. The transistor pair receives an input current. Each differential pairs connecting with each other in parallel is connected to the transistor pair to form a differential current mirror for amplifying the input current. The control device adjusts the output polarity of the current mirror, thereby obtaining a predetermined gain between the output of the current mirror and the input current. Therefore, amplification of the input current at a programmable gain is realized.
