A double clutch transmission (DCT) provides eight forward speeds and one reverse speed while minimizing the number of gear trains used for changing speed and the whole length thereof. In particular, the DCT has a simple structure using four or five gear trains and four synchro devices and is capable of providing eight forward speeds and one reverse speed while reducing the entire weight thereof. In a conventional DCT, when a gear train is added to increase the number of speed stages, the whole length thereof is increased. The provided DCT can minimize the whole length and the weight thereof, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost, the number of parts, and the fuel efficiency.

Double clutch transmission

An automated manual transmission is provided to implement seven forward gear changes and one reverse gear change. The automated manual transmission includes: a first input shaft; a second input shaft; a driving gear section mounted to the first and second input shafts; a clutch section for transmitting or blocking the power of the engine; a first output shaft to which the power is transmitted from the first input shaft or the second input shaft; a second output shaft to which the power is transmitted from the first input shaft or the second input shaft; a driven gear section including a plurality of driven gears which are mounted on the first output shaft and the second output shaft; and a synchronization section for connecting or disconnecting the first output shaft and the second output shaft. The clutch section includes a first clutch mounted to the first input shaft and a second clutch mounted to the second input.

Automated manual transmission

An automated manual transmission includes first and second power input shafts, a drive gear part, a clutch arranged to transmit or interrupt the power of the engine to the first or second input shaft, first and second power output shafts to which power is transmitted from the first or second input shaft, driven gearing including a plurality of driven gears on the first and second output shafts, and a synchronizer connecting or disconnecting the first output shaft or the second output shaft and the driven gear to provide multi-stage gear shift steps. The clutch includes first and second clutches installed at the first and second input shafts to transmit or interrupt input engine power. An example of such transmission having 8 forward speeds and one reverse speed is described.
