A display device includes a substrate, pixels on the substrate, pads, and test lines. The pads are between the pixels and an edge of the substrate and include a first pad and a second pad. The test lines include a first test line and a second test line. The first test line includes a first section and a second section. The second section is closer to the edge of the substrate than the first section and is connected through the first section to the first pad. The second test line includes a first segment and a second segment. The second segment is closer to the edge of the substrate than the first segment and is connected through the first segment to the second pad. A minimum distance between the first section and the first segment is larger than a minimum distance between the second section and the second segment.

A display apparatus includes a display panel configured to display an image. The display panel includes a plurality of display areas. A display panel driver is configured to output a driving signal to the display panel. A backlight unit is configured to provide light to the display panel. A luminance compensating part is configured to generate a backlight compensating signal having different compensating values according to a distance between the display panel driver and the display areas of the display panel.

Display device including overlapping connection circuit boards

A display device includes a display panel including pixels disposed at rows and columns, first data lines respectively disposed at the columns, and second data lines respectively disposed at the columns, a first data driver connected to the first data lines, and a second data driver connected to the second data lines. A first portion of the pixels are connected to the first data lines, and a second portion of the pixels are connected to the second data lines. The first data driver provides first gray voltages corresponding to a first gamma curve to the first portion of the pixels through the first data lines, and the second data driver provides second gray voltages corresponding to a second gamma curve different from the first gamma curve to the second portion of the pixels through the second data lines.

Display device including data drivers

A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel including a plurality of pixels, a voltage generator generating a gate on voltage and a gate off voltage, a gate driver generating a gate signal provided to the pixel using the gate on voltage and the gate off voltage, and providing the gate signal to the pixels, a data driver providing a data signal to the pixels, and a timing controller generating control signals that control the gate driver and the data driver. Each of the pixels includes a red sub-pixel, a green sub-pixel, and a blue sub-pixel. A voltage level of the gate off voltage provided to the red sub-pixel, a voltage level of the gate off voltage provided to the green sub-pixel, and a voltage level of the gate off voltage provided to the blue sub-pixel are different from one another.

Liquid crystal display panel and electronic device having the same

A display device includes a display substrate having a fan-out area, and a plurality of driving integrated circuits are arranged to reduce a signal delay variation. A printed circuit board (PCB) is connected to the fan-out area, and a driving integrated circuit (IC) is disposed on the PCB in a second direction. A first circuit board wiring is disposed on the PCB and connected to the driving IC. A second circuit board wiring is disposed in the second direction and connected to the driving IC. A first fan-out wiring is disposed on the fan-out area and connected to the first circuit board wiring, and a second fan-out wiring is disposed in the second direction from the fan-out area and connected to the second circuit board wiring. A sum of the length of the wiring of the first circuit board and the second circuit board may be substantially the same.

A display apparatus includes a display panel, a backlight unit and a touch panel. The backlight unit generates and provides light and is disposed below the display panel to provide the light to the display panel. The touch panel includes a base film attached to a top surface of the display panel. The base film defines a base portion thereof which is overlapped with the display panel. The base portion which is overlapped with the display panel is extended to define a dummy wing portion of the base film. The dummy wing portion is bent from the display panel to a side surface of the backlight unit to be fixed to the side surface of the backlight unit.

Display apparatus including touch panel fixing a display panel to a backlight unit

A liquid crystal display comprises: an upper panel including an upper substrate on which a plurality of thin film layers are formed; a lower panel including a lower substrate on which a plurality of thin film layers are formed; a liquid crystal layer positioned between the upper panel and the lower panel; and a sealing member bonding between the upper panel and the lower panel and constraining the liquid crystal layer. The lower panel includes an aligning agent margin part which is positioned inside the sealing member on the lower substrate and dummy pixels which are positioned at the aligning agent margin part and which enclose a display area. By this configuration, it is possible for a liquid crystal display to be capable of reducing the peripheral area of the display panel so as to expand the display area or making the peripheral area seem smaller to make the display area seem larger.
