A display apparatus includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels, and a cover panel including a window layer, an optical filter layer, a color filter layer and a bezel layer. The window layer includes a transmission region and a bezel region adjacent to the transmission region. The optical filter layer is disposed on the transmission region of the rear surface of the window layer. The color filter layer is disposed on the optical filter layer and includes a quantum dot. The bezel layer is disposed on the bezel region of the rear surface. The optical filter layer includes a partition wall layer, in which an opening is defined, a light-blocking layer disposed on the partition wall layer, and a reflection layer disposed in the opening. The bezel layer has a same color as the light-blocking layer.

Display apparatus and method of fabricating the same

A display panel includes an upper display substrate. The upper display substrate includes a base substrate and first to fourth color filters. The first and second color filters overlap first and second pixel areas. The third color filter overlaps a light-blocking area and a third pixel area and has a first opening and a second opening corresponding to the first pixel area and second pixel area, respectively. The fourth color filter overlaps the first pixel area and the second pixel area and has a third opening corresponding to the third pixel area.

A display panel includes an upper substrate to which external light is incident, a sealing member which is in a non-display area and couples the upper substrate to a lower display substrate. The upper display substrate includes: a base substrate; a light shielding layer and filter layer each corresponding to the non-display area and absorbing a portion of external light which is transmitted through the base substrate at the non-display area, the filter layer and the light shielding layer having different colors from each other. In a first non-display area of the base substrate which corresponds to the sealing member, only one among the filter layer and the light shielding layer is disposed. In a second non-display area of the base substrate which is adjacent to the first non-display area, both the filter layer and the light shielding layer are disposed.

A display substrate includes a first division pattern in which a plurality of first openings corresponding to the first pixel areas and the second pixel areas are defined, a first color filter overlapping each of the first pixel area of the first pixel row and the first pixel area of the second pixel row, a second division pattern which overlaps the peripheral area and in which a first common opening corresponding to each of the first pixel area of the first pixel row and the first pixel area of the second pixel row, which are in one pixel row, is defined, and a first color control pattern corresponding to the first common opening and overlapping each of the first pixel area of the first pixel row and the first pixel area of the second pixel row, which are in the one pixel row.

The color substrate includes: a substrate including first and second pixel regions spaced apart from each other, and a light shielding region between the first and second pixel regions; a first color conversion layer over the first pixel region and configured to convert incident light into first color light; a second color conversion layer over the second pixel region and configured to convert the incident light into second color light; and a retroreflective layer over the light shielding region and configured to retroreflect incident light through the first and second color conversion layer.

A display panel includes an upper display substrate, a lower display substrate, and a partition wall. The upper display substrate includes a display area and a non-display area adjacent to the display area. The display area includes pixel areas and a light blocking area adjacent to the pixel areas. The lower display substrate includes display elements configured to emit light having a first color and respectively overlapping the pixel areas. The partition wall includes a partition wall part overlapping the light blocking area and a reflection part disposed on the partition wall part. The upper display substrate includes a base substrate, a color filter layer disposed on the base substrate, and a light control layer disposed on the color filter layer. The light control layer is configured to control the light having the first color. The partition wall is disposed on the light control layer.

A display panel includes a first display substrate, a second display substrate.
