The invention relates to a method of operating a textile treatment device comprising a heatable soleplate intended to be in contact with a textile for treating the textile. The method comprises a first step () of setting a first temperature target for the heatable soleplate, and a step () of detecting movement of said textile treatment device. If the step () of 5 detecting movement did not detect any movement of said textile treatment device during more than a given first time duration, a step () of actively decreasing the temperature of the heatable soleplate () up to reaching a first given temperature having a value below said first temperature target.

Method for actively decreasing the temperature of a heatable soleplate in a textile treatment device

The present invention relates to a device () for generating steam. The device () comprises a plate () forming a surface, and a heating element () to heat the plate () to a predetermined temperature being at least above water evaporation temperature. The plate () is inclined at an angle compared to the horizontal direction to define an upper end and a lower end. The device () also comprises a water inlet arrangement () for dispensing water onto the plate () proximate the upper end, a control unit () to control the flow of water dispensed onto the plate (), and a scale collection container () disposed adjacent to the plate (). The control unit () is configured to control the flow of water dispensed onto the plate () and the temperature of the plate () so that substantially all the water dispensed onto the plate () evaporates before it reaches the lower end () of the plate (). This invention allows an easy scale collection, thanks to the inclination angle of the plate's surface that causes the dislodged scale to travel down the plate's surface toward the lower end of the plate and, ultimately, into the container.

Method and device for generating steam comprising a scale container and steamer appliance with such a device

The invention relates to a device () for generating steam. The device () comprises a first plate () being inclined at a positive first angle (A) compared to the horizontal direction (H) to define a first upper end () and a first lower end (), a heating element () to heat the first plate () to a predetermined temperature being at least above water evaporation temperature, a water inlet arrangement () for dispensing water onto the first plate (), a second plate () being inclined at a negative second angle (B) compared to the horizontal direction (H) to define a second upper end () and a second lower end (), the second upper end () adjoining the first lower end (), and a container () extending at least below said first lower end (), said container () being arranged for collecting scale flakes falling from the first plate (). This solution allows creating a larger volume for the collection of scale, thus increasing the operating life of the device ().

Device and method for generating steam comprising a container for collecting scale flakes

The invention relates to a spray nozzle comprising an elastomeric tube () comprising a proximal end () through which a fluid is intended to enter said tube (), and a distal end (). The spray nozzle also comprises a slit () formed in the elastomeric tube () between the proximal end () and the distal end (), for spraying the fluid out from the elastomeric tube (). The elastomeric tube () includes a reinforcing element () for limiting deformation of the elastomeric tube (). By providing a slit in a tube between the proximal and distal ends of the tube, the slit can be sized to provide a broad spread pattern to the spray. The reinforcing element prevents over-expansion or deformation of the elastomeric tube.

Spray nozzle

A boiler having a shell enclosing a space and an inlet for letting water into the shell space. The shell space has two separate sections, wherein a first section is located such as to receive a supply of fresh water to the boiler and wherein a second section is located such as to receive water from the first section when overflow of the first section takes place under the influence of a continuous supply of fresh water. A steam generating process takes place in the second section. Due to the fact that the second section is only indirectly filled with water, it is possible to have an undisturbed process. In particular, the water may be heated in the first section before reaching the second section. The first section may for example include an inner space of a container which is arranged inside the shell, for example.

A steam discharge unit () comprises a chamber () for accommodating a flow of a water-steam mixture and heating the water-steam mixture, an inlet () to the chamber (), and an outlet () from the chamber (). In order to avoid water droplets from exiting the chamber () through the outlet () along with a flow of steam, special measures are taken, which comprise a barrier () arranged inside the chamber (), in a flow path of a water-steam mixture from the inlet () to the outlet (), and a hydrophobic surface () arranged preferably close to the outlet (). In case water droplets remain inside the chamber () and tend to move towards the outlet (), an actual release of the water droplets from the chamber () cannot take place by virtue of the presence of the barrier () and the hydrophobic surface () as mentioned.
