An absorbent article for use with a RF reader includes an absorbent pad and a RFID tag. The absorbent pad includes a lining layer, a liquid-impermeable layer, an absorbent layer, and a plurality of sensing wires. The liquid-impermeable layer is attached to the lining layer. The absorbent layer is disposed between the lining layer and the liquid-impermeable layer. The lining layer and the liquid-impermeable layer define a receiving space having an opening located at a side portion of the absorbent pad. The sensing wires are provided on the absorbent layer and extend into the receiving space. The RFID tag is received in the receiving space and contacts electrically the sensing wires when received in the receiving space.

A diffuser for an aeration system includes a base, a valve member, and a diaphragm. The diaphragm has a central portion, a peripheral portion, and a surrounding segment. The surrounding segment is interposed between the central portion and the peripheral portion, and includes a base web layer and a porous foam layer. The base web layer includes a plurality of fibrous filaments arranged to form a textured structure with a plurality of pores. The porous foam layer is disposed on the base web layer.

Diffuser for an aeration system

This invention relates to a diffuser for an aeration system, including a base, a diaphragm and a valve member attached to the diaphragm. The base is provided with a valve seat for engaging with the valve member to close the inlet of the aerating gas. Furthermore, the diaphragm includes a central portion, a peripheral portion attached to the periphery of the base, and a surrounding web segment interposed therebetween. The surrounding web segment includes a plurality of fibrous filaments which are arranged to form a textured structure with a plurality of pores of a dimension such that the aerating gas, when introduced, is permitted to be bubbled through the plurality of pores, so as to form fine and small bubbles in the water.

A method includes: disposing a filter into a body of wastewater containing active sludge, the filter including a supporting member having an outlet, and a filter media enclosing the supporting member and supported by the supporting member so as to have a predetermined firm shape, the filter media including a non-woven substrate and a fibrous filtering layer attached to the non-woven substrate and having a pore diameter ranging from 0.001 to 15 &#x3bc;m and a layer thickness ranging from 10 to 200 &#x3bc;m, the fibrous filtering layer being made from fibers having a fiber diameter ranging from 20 to 1000 nm; and driving the wastewater to pass through the filter using a pump connected to the outlet of the supporting member of the filter.

Method for treating wastewater containing active sludge

A wastewater treating system includes: a vessel defining a vessel space therein, the vessel space being partitioned into an activated sludge zone that is adapted to receive waste water and a body of an activated sludge therein, and a coarse filtering zone that is disposed downstream of and that is in fluid communication with the activated sludge zone for receiving bio-treated wastewater from the activated sludge zone; and a bed of biomass carriers colonized with microorganisms and disposed in the coarse filtering zone for further bio-treating the bio-treated wastewater from the activated sludge zone and for separating coarse suspended solids from the bio-treated wastewater in the coarse filtering zone.
