Embodiments of a Urological implant include an implant with an elongated body having a longitudinal axis. Optionally longitudinal ribs symmetrically oppose each other and are connected to elongated body. The longitudinal ribs are optionally elastically shiftable between a collapsed state and an expanded state relative to the spinal longitudinal axis, in order to retract or/and support periurethral tissue. Optionally the system includes an implant extraction handle. The extraction handle is optionally positioned proximally to the elongated body and connected to the longitudinal rib and subject to a pulling force to facilitate and/or force approximation of the longitudinal supports to the longitudinal axis. In some embodiments, an implant body includes longitudinally spaced arched members, interconnected via arch ends sequentially along a length of a first and second longitudinal rib. Optionally the arched members are elastically bendable to facilitate elastic contractibility of the implant body under a transverse compressive force.

Dilating device and method for prostatic urethra

The present application provides a self-powered drug-delivery device. The device includes a chamber having a wall. The chamber contains a fluid and is in connection with an administration means. The device also includes a displacement-generating battery cell. The device further includes an electrically-controlled battery unit, which includes the displacement-generating battery cell coupled to the chamber by a coupling means. The displacement-generating battery cell includes an element that changes shape as a result of charge or discharge of the battery cell so as to cause a displacement within the battery unit. The arrangement of the battery unit, the coupling means, the wall, the chamber, and the administration means is such that the displacement derived from the battery unit is conveyed by the coupling means to cause displacement of the wall of the chamber such that the fluid is expelled from the chamber to force a drug towards the administration means.

A visual system for laparoscopy comprising a visual device having a visual head member and an elongated connector; a manipulation device having a handheld operation portion, an insertion portion and a first contact element; and an external device comprising means to communicate with the vision head member, via the first contact element, when the elongated connector is mounted in an lumen of the insertion portion. The insertion portion of the manipulation device is configured to be extendable out from a body cavity through an airtight passage whereby the elongated connector is configured to be slidably mounted into the lumen of the insertion portion outside of the body cavity upon the insertion portion is withdrawn into the body cavity.

Laparoscope system

A laparoscopic port is disclosed which includes a tubular member comprising a proximal end and a distal end and a lumen extending there between. At least one seal member provided in the lumen adapted to prevent pressurized gas flow from the distal end to the proximal end of the tubular member. The laparoscopic port further includes a shielding trigger positioned distal to the seal member in the lumen, the shielding trigger is shaped so as at least a proximal portion of the shielding trigger has a narrowing cross-section that extends towards the seal member, the proximal portion is adapted to actuate a reversibly opening and protection of the seal member upon a proximally projected pressure from a distal end of an artifact.

Laparoscopic port

Hemostatic clips, clip appliers, and applications thereof, for ligating bodily organs or tissues in a subject. Clip and clip appliers structurally conform to various thicknesses of bodily organs or tissues. The hemostatic clip includes opposing first and second clip arms connected at a shared elastic normally-opened joint portion. Clip arms include outer and inner members having tissue contacting surfaces, and gaps, for elastically deforming or/and shifting, to apply compression and clamping forces to bodily organ or tissue. Clip includes locking mechanism for locking clip arms together. Distal and proximal end portions may freely extend from a first arm joining portion. Clip includes interconnecting mechanism for sequentially chaining lengthwise multiple clips. Clip may include inner clip arm member with distal and proximal end portions freely extending from single arm joining portion. Also disclosed are clip appliers for deploying hemostatic clips, and methods employing hemostatic clips, for ligating bodily organs or tissue.

Thickness-adjustable hemostatic clips, clip appliers, and applications thereof

A system for passing an end portion of a needle system from a body cavity to an outer environment through a laparoscopic port is provided. The system comprises an elongated Sleeve which comprises a second proximal opening, a second distal opening, a second lumen extending between the second proximal opening and the second distal opening, and a seal provided in the second lumen. The system further comprises a seal bridge which comprises an elongated body. The elongated sleeve is telescopically introducible at a first proximal end, through a first lumen and bypassing a seal mechanism of the laparoscopic port. The seal bridge is adapted to be inserted through the second proximal opening to be deployed in the second lumen and thereby bridging across and/or deactivating the seal of the elongated sleeve.

Urological (prostatic) implant, system, and method for retracting or/and supporting periurethral tissue enclosing a prostatic urethra along lengths of prostate lobes, for example, in BPH patients. Prostatic implant includes independently actuatable distal retractor incorporating craniolateral corners and proximal retractor incorporating caudolateral corners. Retractors may be connected via elongated spine member, and formed as paired curved wing-liked structures having interconnecting members. May further include tissue support members extending between elongated edge members connecting retractors to spine member, and tissue support members extending between elongated edge members and spine member. Tissue support members are sized and configured for supporting portions of prostatic lateral lobes when spine member engages anterior interlobar groove extending between prostatic lateral lobes, and when elongated edge members engage posterolateral interlobar grooves. System and method include implant manipulator detachably connected to implant elongated edge members, for manipulating and forcing implant caudolateral corners into close proximity, for delivery into subject.

Retracting or/and supporting periurethral tissue

A dilating device for the prostatic urethra comprising: at least three, laterally connected ridges, wherein each ridge is configured to longitudinally engage with a different substantially longitudinal groove of the prostatic urethra of a patient, and wherein the at least three laterally connected ridges are configured to laterally compress to enable insertion into the prostatic urethra in a compressed configuration, and wherein the at least three laterally connected ridges are configured to laterally expand to a normally-open configuration upon deployment within the prostatic urethra, to exert a radially outwards force that dilates the prostatic urethra.

Micro laparoscopy devices and deployments thereof

A tool introducer is configured for introduction in an elongated body including a straight tube, wherein the tube encloses a tube lumen opened at its distal end with a tube opening. The tool introducer includes locking means to selectively lock or unlock an interchangeable surgical tool to the tube from displacing axially and/or rotationally in the tube lumen, the locking means being configured such that, at the locking, a tool connector of the tool projects towards the tube opening and is distanced therefrom by at least 3 cm. A method includes positioning the surgical tool introducer such that a distal portion thereof projects in a body cavity, manipulating and/or extending the tool introducer to reach and engage an elongated shaft introduced percutaneously into the body cavity; and inserting the elongated shaft into the tube lumen via the tube opening and connecting the tool to the elongated shaft.
