A bearing assembly includes a first bearing part and a second bearing part each including a central portion and a side peripheral wall, an opening to engage a shaft rotatable about a central axis. The central portions may include a plurality of openings to receive numerous pins and other male elements to connect with the bearing parts. The bearing assembly includes an outer ring. The first bearing part and the second bearing part includes a first radial chamfer and a second radial chamfer, extending between the respective central portions and the side peripheral walls. When both the first bearing part and the second bearing part are joined together, they define a V-shaped groove presenting an elliptical configuration.

Bearing wave generator assembly

A heavy duty vehicle hubcap preferably made from a plastic material and having a sidewall, an end wall with a transparent window insert formed therein, and further including a radial mounting flange. The hubcap also includes an access port formed in the hubcap body sidewall and a vent plug removably positioned in liquid tight relation within the access port defined in the hubcap. Preferably, the hubcap is vented to permit passage of gas and vapor therethrough without permitting liquid to pass into the sealed region.

A seal assembly includes a stator attached to a housing and a rotor attached to a shaft. A static sealing member is attached to the stator presenting a contact with the rotor at stand-still. An electromagnetic is attached to the stator at a distance from an end of the static sealing member. The static sealing member is activated and moved away from the rotor by the magnetic force exerted by the electromagnet as the shaft rotates. The electromagnet is controlled by a control system for controlling the equipment in which the bearing isolator is used. To deactivate the static sealing member during shaft rotation, the bearing isolator may have its own control system with a sensor to indicate if the shaft is rotating. As the shaft rotates, contaminants are expelled through gaps between the stator and the rotor.

Pressure resistant static and dynamic seal assembly and method

A shaft sealing assembly for static and dynamic sealing includes a stator member attached to a housing and a rotor member attached to a shaft rotatable about an axis. The rotor member includes first and second pocket sections extending from upper and lower radial flanges extending in a cantilevered fashion from a tubular member. At least one static sealing member is attached to and encapsulates each pocket section. Each static sealing member presents a core portion and a pair of radial lips extending from the core portion. The stator member presents an annular wall extending to inner walls inclined conically to a central radial rim or flange separating two pocket portions and the static sealing members presenting a contact and frictionally engaging with the central radial rim as the rotor member is at a stand-still or static position.

A seal assembly for sealing a space between a housing and a rotary shaft includes a generally annular sealing member having a central axis and inner and outer circumferential surfaces extending about the axis, at least a portion of the inner surface providing a sealing surface engageable with the shaft outer surface so as to define a seal interface with opposing axial ends. The sealing surface is configured to direct substances entering the interface toward at least one of the axial ends. Further, an annular biasing member is disposed about the sealing member outer surface and configured to exert a radially-inwardly directed force on the sealing member so as to generate contact pressure within the seal interface. The biasing member is arranged on the sealing member such that at least a portion of the biasing member extends axially in general alignment with at least a portion of the sealing surface.

In described embodiments, a seal assembly is provided for sealing a space between a shaft and a housing. The shaft is rotatable about a central axis. The seal assembly includes an outer portion connectable with the housing and an inner portion releasably attached to the outer portion. The inner portion is replaceable with a replacement inner portion. A method for removing the inner portion from the outer portion is also provided.

A wear sleeve assembly for a seal on a shaft includes a sleeve having inner and outer circumferential surfaces, the outer surface being engageable by a seal inner surface at a contact location to prevent fluid flow between the seal inner surface and the sleeve outer surface. The sleeve inner surface defines a bore sized to receive a portion of the shaft with clearance. A coupler is configured to connect the sleeve with the shaft and provides a clearance space between the sleeve inner surface and a shaft outer surface at about the seal contact location. Thereby, the sleeve is adjustably positionable relative to the shaft so that the sleeve remains generally centered within the seal as the sleeve and shaft rotate about the axis. The coupler preferably includes an annular body with first and second axially-spaced, relatively displaceable sections for displacing the sleeve relative to the shaft.

A method of forming a seal assembly for sealing a space between a first member having a central axis and an outer surface and a second member having a radially-extending axial surface includes the following steps: providing an elongated elastomeric body and a biasing member, the elongated body having opposing ends and a generally V-shaped groove generally along a length of the body between the two ends; bending the elongated body circumferentially about the first member outer surface; coupling the ends of the elongated body to form an annular seal body; and positioning the biasing member within the groove such that the biasing member exerts a radially-inwardly directed force on the annular seal body so as to substantially prevent relative angular displacement between the seal body and the first member.

Method of forming a V-ring seal

A seal assembly is for sealing between a housing and a rotary shaft includes an annular sealing member coupled with the housing and having inner and outer circumferential surfaces and a plurality of projections extending radially from the outer surface and spaced circumferentially about a central axis. Each projection has first and second axial ends and the plurality of projections define first and second projections. An annular biasing member is disposed about the sealing member outer surface and exerts an inwardly directed force on the sealing member. The biasing member has first and second ends and is arranged on the sealing member with the biasing member first end contacting the second end of each first projection and the biasing member second end contacting the first end of each second projection. As such, the biasing member extends axially and circumferentially between the first and second projections.

A seal assembly for sealing a space between a shaft and a housing includes a seal having a central axis, an inner annular sealing lip sealingly engageable with the shaft and an outer annular rim with an outer circumferential surfaces engageable with the housing inner surface. At least one and preferably two support members are disposed within the annular rim and at least one and preferably a plurality of adjustment devices are coupled with the support members. Each adjustment device is configured to displace at least a portion of each support member radially outwardly with respect to the central axis, to displace at least a portion of the rim generally toward the housing inner surface, and/or to displace at least a portion of each support member radially inwardly toward the central axis to permit displacement of at least a portion of the rim generally away from the housing inner surface.

Seal assembly with adjustable outside diameter

An apparatus of the present invention is used for movable objects upwardly and downwardly relative to a fixed surface. The apparatus includes a lifting device presented by a pair of blocks movable relative one and the other. A carriage device is supported by the blocks. The carriage device is connected to object to be lifted relative the fixed surface. An actuator is connected to the blocks. As the actuator moves the blocks relative one and the other, the blocks move above the carriage device relative the fixed surface at various distances lift and lower the objects.

System and method for lifting and lowering objects

A seal assembly is for sealing a clearance space about a shaft, the shaft being rotatable about a central axis, and includes a generally annular sealing member disposed about the shaft. The sealing member is radially deflectable between an inner position and an outer position, the sealing member sealing the clearance space when located at the inner position. A generally annular rotor is disposed about and rotatably coupled with the shaft, the rotor having a generally annular cavity sized to receive the sealing member and at least one and preferably a plurality of lift passages extending at least partially radially through the rotor. Each lift passage has an inner port fluidly coupled with the cavity and an outer port fluidly coupled with an exterior atmosphere such that suction generated within the lift passages when the rotor angularly displaces about the axis generally retains the sealing member at the outer position.

Static-dynamic seal assembly with hysteresis-inducing passages

A seal for sealing a space between a shaft and a housing, includes a base member coupled with one of the housing and the shaft and a generally annular, elastomeric sealing member sealingly contactable with the other one of the housing and the shaft. The sealing member is coupled with the base member such that the sealing member is circumferentially strained to reduce friction between the sealing member and the other one of the housing and the shaft. The seal assembly is preferably formed by providing a base member having a generally annular carrier portion and a generally annular, elastomeric sealing member, coupling the sealing member with the annular portion of the base member, and plastically deforming at least a section of the base member carrier portion such that the sealing member is circumferentially strained.

An apparatus for receiving a mold assembly having a first mold portion and a second mold portion operably connected with one another for forming parts. The apparatus includes a mold holding member and a pair of support members spaced from one another and extending from the mold holding member to a manufacturing floor. A carriage device is cooperable with the mold holding member for engaging and moving the mold assembly. A lifting mechanism of the apparatus is used for moving the carriage device relative the mold holding member to move the mold assembly to be engaged with mold holding member. The lifting mechanism and the carriage device apply forces to opposite surfaces of the mold holding member to prevent the mold holding member from deflection and distortion to eliminate offset between the first mold portion and the second mold portion thereby eliminating defective parts as said apparatus forms the parts.

Apparatus for fabricating parts and method of forming the apparatus

An apparatus for receiving a plurality of mold assemblies having a first mold portion and a second mold portion operably connected together for forming parts. The apparatus includes a mold holding member and a pair of spaced apart support members extending from the mold holding member to a manufacturing floor. A carriage device is cooperable with the mold holding member for engaging and moving the mold assembly. A lifting mechanism is used for moving the carriage device relative the mold holding member to move the mold assembly to be engaged with mold holding member. A turn table adjacent to the mold holding member holds the mold assemblies and is movable relative the mold holding member thereby replacing the mold assemblies. A controller is operably connected to the mold holding member and the turn table thereby moving the turn table relative the mold holding member to interchange the mold assemblies.
