As a result, errors from the storage device can be automatically managed, which helps to improve the data storage system's capacity to handle different types of errors of the storage device.

Techniques for managing a storage system involve cleaning up a persistent storage disk in a backup mode to increase a writing rate of the persistent storage disk. The techniques further involve creating a library partition in the cleaned persistent storage disk.
