Systems and methods for an advanced authorization framework that provides advanced network security and control of network hosted data. The framework provides computerized mechanisms that dictate a control of which data is accessible by particular network components, and which operations the privileged components are enabled to be performed. The framework can allow Network Function (NF) service consumers to discover and request network data that is specific to the operational status (e.g., PCF can request policy data). The framework provides an access scope of the NF service consumer that manages which hosted data is accessible, and to what degree it can be manipulated, if at all.

Computerized system and method for enhanced authorization of network data

In some implementations, a network device may store first data associated with a monitoring event, wherein the first data is associated with a subscriber and is stored as persistent data in a memory associated with the network device. The network device may receive second data associated with an occurrence of the monitoring event. The network device may determine that the second data indicates a change to the first data. The network device may provide the second data to a network exposure function (NEF) based on the second data indicating the change to the first data, wherein the second data is not provided to the NEF when the second data does not indicate the change to the first data.

Systems and methods for synchronizing subscriber data and events between networks

A network device executing a Network Exposure Function (NEF) receives, from a requestor, an on-demand Subscription Concealed Identifier (SUCI) deconcealment request associated with a mobile network subscriber. The NEF sends a second SUCI deconcealment request to a network function (NF) in the mobile network, where the second SUCI deconcealment request includes a SUCI associated with the mobile network subscriber. The NEF receives, from the NF, a SUCI deconcealment response that includes a Subscription Permanent Identifier (SUPI), associated with the mobile network subscriber, decrypted from the SUCI by the NF, and forwards the SUCI deconcealment response to the requestor.

An aspect of the present disclosure is a method including receiving, by a Content Authorization Function (CAF), a request to provide a UE type of a UE and a physical location associated with the UE, the request including a UE Internet Protocol (IP) address associated with the UE; querying, by the CAF, a Network Function (NF), to provide the UE type and associated physical location, the query including the UE IP address; receiving, by the CAF from the NF, the UE type and associated physical location; and transmitting the UE type and associated physical location.

System and method for determining device location and providing access authorization

A User Equipment ('UE') described herein may connect or request connection to a base station of a wireless network. The base station may implement multiple frequency bands, and connecting or requesting connection to the base station may include connecting or requesting connection via a particular frequency band of the multiple frequency bands. The UE may provide an indication of the particular frequency band to a core of the wireless network. The core may select a set of parameters for communications between the UE and the wireless network based on the indication of the particular frequency band. Additionally, or alternatively, the core may provide an indication of the particular frequency band to a device that provides a service to the UE via the wireless network, and the device may select parameters for the service based on the indication of the particular frequency band.

Systems and methods for real-time frequency band monitoring in a wireless network

A method may include receiving, by at least one network device and from a user device, a registration message including a service identifier and at least one of a network slice identifier or a network slice token. The method may also include determining, based on information included in the registration message, whether the user device is authorized to use a network slice associated with the service identifier. A system described herein may receive a request to establish a communication session between a core network and a User Equipment ('UE'), determine that the requested communication session is associated with one or more admission control options and receive, from the UE, a selection of a particular admission control option of the one or more admission control options. The system may identify one or more actions associated with the particular admission control option. The one or more actions include rejecting the request to establish the communication session, or accepting the request to establish the communication session. The system may perform the one or more identified actions associated with the particular admission control option. The system may include an interface between an Access and Mobility Management Function (“AMF”) of the core network and a Network Slice Access Control Function (“NSACF”) of the core network.

A quality of service traffic steering approach for multi-access edge computing (MEC) environments is disclosed. In an embodiment, a network exposure function (NEF) or similar device (e.g., MEC controller or orchestrator) monitors a quality of service (QoS) of a data session between a user equipment (UE) and an application. The NEF then can determine when the QoS of the data session does not meet a requested service level agreement (SLA). When the SLA is not met, the NEF identifies a MEC host that meets the SLA using a database of MEC applications. Based on the identified MEC host, the NEF re-routes the data session to the MEC host.

A device may create a list of identifiers for base stations that support a fixed wireless service for a user device. The device may receive a first identifier of a first base station associated with a first attach request of the user device. The device may enable the fixed wireless service for the first base station for the user device when the first identifier is included in the list of identifiers. The device may disable the fixed wireless service for the first base station for the user device when the first identifier is not included in the list of identifiers.

Systems and methods for controlling provision of fixed wireless services utilizing a list of authorized identifiers

A system may receive a request to perform a firmware update on an Internet of Things (IoT) device and determine whether the IoT device is capable of switching from a first mode to a second mode. The IoT device sends and receives data via first channels when the IoT device is operating in the first mode and the IoT device sends and receives data via second channels when the IoT device is operating in the second mode. The system instructs the IoT device to switch to the second mode in response to determining that the IoT device is capable of switching to the second mode and sends the firmware update to the IoT device while the IoT device is in the second mode. The system determines that the firmware update has been completed and instructs the IoT device to switch from the second mode to the first mode when the firmware update has been completed.

A system described herein may provide a technique for an inter-segment Network Function ('NF') discovery procedure in a network that includes multiple discrete network segments. The network segments may each include a respective set of NFs. An NF discovery request may include discovery parameters such as an identifier of a User Equipment (“UE”).
