Techniques for mobile broadband and machine type communication network coexistence are provided. A method can include embedding, by a system comprising a processor, narrowband carriers, comprising a first narrowband carrier having a first bandwidth and a second narrowband carrier having the first bandwidth, into respective portions of an enhanced wireless broadband carrier, the enhanced wireless broadband carrier having a second bandwidth that is greater than the first bandwidth; transmitting, by the system to network equipment via the first narrowband carrier, a master information block comprising a first bandwidth field indicative of the first bandwidth and a second bandwidth field, distinct from the first bandwidth field, indicative of the second bandwidth; and scheduling, by the system, the network equipment on the second narrowband carrier in response to transmitting the master information block to the network equipment.

Facilitating conditional fast return to stand alone advanced networks after voice fall back with network congestion awareness is provided herein. Operations of a system can include controlling a first communication for a user equipment based on a connection request that comprises an indication of a fall back procedure. The operations can also include, based on a determination that the first communication has completed at the user equipment, releasing a first control of the user equipment. Further, the operations can include delaying a redirection of the user equipment to the network equipment for a second control of a second communication scheduled to occur at the user equipment. Delaying of the redirection is based on a determined network congestion level applicable to the communication network being determined to be at most a defined network congestion level.

Facilitating conditional fast return to stand alone advanced networks after voice fall back based on network congestion awareness

Aspects of the subject disclosure include, for example, identifying a primary serving cell and a secondary serving cell, wherein the primary serving cell facilitates one of attachment, re-attachment or mobility, or any combination thereof, of a mobile device in association with coordination of a wireless service between the primary serving cell, the secondary serving cell and the mobile device. A latency value associated with a message exchange is determined between the primary and secondary serving cells via a messaging interface, and compared to latency requirements, which correspond to a group of mobile service features. A mobile service feature of the group is associated with the wireless service based on the comparison. The wireless service includes a coordinated exchange of wireless signals between the primary serving cell and the mobile device and between the secondary serving cell and the mobile device based on the mobile service feature. System and method for dynamic feature selection based on latency discovery

The disclosed technology is directed towards switching the primary cell in a carrier aggregation scenario to improve performance. Measurement data of a mobile device (user equipment) is evaluated with respect to one or more various criteria such as cell carrier bandwidth, cell carrier load, cell-related capability and other carrier data (e.g., dynamic spectrum sharing versus clean, time division duplex or frequency division duplex), and others. Device conditions such as overheating can be considered as well. The evaluation results in a ranking of primary cell candidates. If a more optimal primary cell (candidate) is available, the primary cell in the carrier aggregation combination is switched to the candidate that is ranked the highest. Switching can be relatively very fast, such as based on already existing layer-1 (L1) and/or layer-2 (L2) measurement data. Layer-3 (L3) measurement data also can be obtained on demand, for example, to use in the evaluation.

Apparatuses and methods for facilitating a selection between carrier aggregation and dual connectivity

Techniques for controlling parameters for uplink transmission associated with a device to facilitate improving a communication condition metric(s) (CCM(s)) of the uplink transmission are presented. A communication management component (CMC) can determine whether CCM satisfies a first threshold CCM. If CCM does not, CMC can modify a parameter(s) to reduce a number of resource blocks or an MCS value to improve the CCM. If respective minimum threshold levels have been reached for the number of resource blocks and MCS value, and CCM still is not satisfying the first threshold CCM, CMC can modify a parameter to increase an amount of repetition of data packets for uplink transmission (unless a maximum threshold amount of repetition is reached). If CCM satisfies an applicable threshold CCM for a defined amount of time, CMC can modify parameters to increase the number of resource blocks, increase MCS value, or reduce repetition of data packets.

Enhancing the robustness of uplink transmission

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving first data at a first rate via a first network connection and receiving second data at a second rate via a second network connection that is different from the first network connection based on the first rate being less than a threshold. A method, system, computer readable storage medium, or apparatus provides for receiving a first message from a user equipment (UE), wherein the first message comprises an indication of one or more conditions, wherein the one or more conditions comprises an indication that the UE has a radio mode that comprises new radio (NR); determining a required idle period for long term evolution (LTE) for the UE; determining, based on the first message and the required idle period for LTE, a transmission time interval (TTI) for NR that corresponds to the required idle period for LTE; and sending, to the UE, a second message, wherein the second message comprises an indication of the TTI for NR.

The fast return procedure can be either a &#x201c;RRC release and redirect' or an &#x201c;IRAT handover.&#x201d; Further, the method can comprise redirecting the mobile device to a third network device selected based on a capability of the mobile device.
