A lock for actively locking an electronic device includes an engagement member that is movable by an actuator. The actuator moves the engagement member to the locked position with a first amount of power from the power source and from the locked position to an unlocked position with a second amount of power from the power source. The engagement member will passively remain in the unlocked position or the locked position.

Indexed sequential lock

A computing device is described. The computing device may include a first portion and a second portion separably connected to the first portion. A locking mechanism may be configured to lock the first portion to the second portion. The locking mechanism may include a locking receptacle connected to the first portion and a locking protrusion connected to the second portion. The locking receptacle may include a rotating lock and may have an aperture through which the locking protrusion is insertable. The computing device may include an actuator mechanically coupled to the locking mechanism and configured to unlock the first portion from the second portion.

Aspects described herein generally relate to a haptic feedback mechanism including a shape memory alloy (SMA) material coupled to a mass and a surface, where contraction of the SMA material causes the mass to move from a first position to a second position causing one of compression or decompression of a spring element coupled to the mass, and where loosening of the SMA material causes the mass the move from the second position toward the first position by the other one of compression or decompression of the spring element. The haptic feedback mechanism also includes a heat source configured to selectively apply heat to, and remove heat from, the SMA material to achieve a modulation of contracting and loosening of the SMA material to cause a vibration of the mass.

The described technology includes a power distribution controller configured to control functioning of a first power source configured to supply power to a first component and to a second component and a second power source configured to supply power to the second component. The power distribution controller sets an upper limit of current from the first power source to the second component based on average level of charge at the second power source over a predetermined amount of time. The power distribution controller reduces the amount of power loss due to spikes in current from the first power source to the second component.

A charging circuit comprises a power node electrically connectable to a power supply unit, a battery node electrically connectable to a battery, a device node electrically connected to a device load, a reversible buck-boost converter operatively intermediate the power node and the battery node, a first switch operatively intermediate the power node and the device node, a second switch operatively intermediate the battery node and the device node; and logic operatively connected to the first switch, the second switch, and the reversible buck-boost converter. The logic is configured to operate the first switch, the second switch, and the reversible buck-boost converter based on a plurality of different conditions.

Aspects described herein generally relate to an actuated locking device. The actuated locking device includes a locking mechanism moveable between a first position and a second position, an actuator connected to the locking mechanism that actuates the locking mechanism for moving between the first position and the second position, and a hardstop switch that limits movement of the locking mechanism to at least one of the first position or the second position, in contact with the hardstop switch. The hardstop switch comprises a body including an electrically conductive surface defining a switch that completes an electrical circuit when the locking mechanism contacts the body of the hardstop switch.

An electronic connector includes a base, and one or more tapered extensions protruding from the base. Each tapered extension includes a nose forming a terminal end of that tapered extension. Each tapered extension further includes first and second connection faces that form respective opposing sides of that tapered extension, and that taper toward each other from the base to the nose. Each tapered extension further includes first and second flank surfaces that form respective opposing sides of that tapered extension, and that taper toward each other from the base to the nose between the first and second connection faces. Each tapered extension further includes a first forward set of plural electrical contacts and a first rearward electrical contact located along the first connection face. Each tapered extension further includes a second forward set of plural electrical contacts and a second rearward electrical contact located along the second connection face.
