Score displaying method and storage medium

A controller of a score displaying apparatus operates in a view mode displaying a score on a screen of a user I/F, and a writing mode obtaining information indicating writing on the score via the user I/F. In response to one operation specifying one grand staff by a user in the view mode, the controller performs a process of enlarging an image of an image area to which the specified grand staff belongs and displaying the enlarged image on a foreground of a center of the screen, and performs a process of switching a control mode from the view mode to the writing mode.

Candidate frequencies per unit segment of an audio signal are identified. First processing section identifies an estimated train that is a time series of candidate frequencies, each selected for a different one of the segments, arranged over a plurality of the unit segments and that has a high likelihood of corresponding to a time series of fundamental frequencies of a target component. Second processing section identifies a state train of states, each indicative of one of sound-generating and non-sound-generating states of the target component in a different one of the segments, arranged over the unit segments. Frequency information which designates, as a fundamental frequency of the target component, a candidate frequency corresponding to the unit segment in the estimated train is generated for each unit segment corresponding to the sound-generating state. Frequency information indicative of no sound generation is generated for each unit segment corresponding to the non-sound-generating state.

Technique for estimating particular audio component

In a sound processing apparatus, a likelihood calculation unit calculates an in-region coefficient and an out-of-region coefficient indicating likelihood of generation of each frequency component of a sound signal inside and outside a target localization range, respectively, according to localization of each frequency component. A reverberation analysis unit calculates a reverberation index value according to the ratio of a reverberation component for each frequency component. A coefficient setting unit generates a process coefficient for suppressing or emphasizing a reverberation component generated inside or outside the target localization range, for each frequency component of the sound signal, on the basis of the in-region coefficient, the out-of-region coefficient and the reverberation index value. A signal processing unit applies the process coefficient of each frequency component to each frequency component of the sound signal.

Sound processing apparatus

A coefficient train processing section, which sequentially generates per unit segment a processing coefficient train for suppressing a target component of an audio signal, includes a basic coefficient train generation section and coefficient train processing section. The basic coefficient train generation section generates a basic coefficient train where basic coefficient values corresponding to frequencies within a particular frequency band range are each set at a suppression value that suppresses the audio signal while coefficient values corresponding to frequencies outside the particular frequency band range are each set at a pass value that maintains the audio signal. The coefficient train processing section generates the processing coefficient train, per unit segment, by changing, to the pass value, each of the coefficient values corresponding to frequencies other than the target component among the coefficient values corresponding to the frequencies within the particular frequency band range.

Technique for suppressing particular audio component

Signal processing section of a terminal converts acquired audio signals of a plurality of channels into frequency spectra set, calculates sound image positions corresponding to individual frequency components, and displays, on a display screen, the calculated sound image positions results by use of a coordinate system having coordinate axes of the frequency components and sound image positions. User-designated partial region of the coordinate system is set as a designated region and an amplitude-level adjusting amount is set for the designated region, so that the signal processing section adjusts amplitude levels of frequency components included in the frequency spectra and in the designated region, converts the adjusted frequency components into audio signals and outputs the converted audio signals.

Graphical audio signal control

The present invention is directed to a waveform synthesizer apparatus that synthesizes a waveform of a musical sound based on musical performance event information. In particular, a music synthesizer includes an overlap detector that detects whether a first and second musical sound overlap, and a sound length meter that determines a sound length of the first musical sound. If the first and second musical sounds overlap, the synthesizer instantly terminates synthesizing of the first sound and starts synthesizing the second sound, provided the length of the first sound does not exceed a predetermined length. If the first and second sounds do not overlap, synthesis of the first sound is terminated, and the synthesis of the second sound is initiated, if it is determined that the length of rest between the two sounds does not exceed a predetermined length, and that the first sound does not exceed a predetermined length.

Musical sound waveform synthesizer

A plurality of blocks of waveform data are stored in a memory, which also stores, for each of the blocks, synchronizing information representative of a plurality of cycle synchronizing points that are indicative of periodic specific phase positions where the block of waveform data should be synchronized in phase with another block of waveform data. Two blocks of waveform data (e.g., harmonic and nonharmonic components) are read out from the memory, along with the synchronizing information. On the basis of the synchronizing information, the readout of two blocks of waveform data is controlled using the synchronizing information. There is stored, for each of the blocks, at least one piece of synchronizing position information indicative of a specific position where the block should be synchronized with another block, and the readout of the individual blocks of waveform data is controlled so that the blocks are synchronized with each other using the synchronizing position information.

Apparatus and method for synthesizing a plurality of waveforms in synchronized manner

In a storage section, there are stored special connecting waveform data for connecting between at least two notes to be generated in succession. The special connecting waveform data contain only a waveform of a succeeding-note region of a waveform connecting portion which is provided for a continuous transition between the at least two notes and which is divided into a preceding-note region and the succeeding-note region. When a connecting tone is to be generated for connecting between two notes in accordance with acquired performance information, a tone waveform connecting between waveforms of the two notes is generated using the special connecting waveform data. With such arrangements, the waveform data of the succeeding-note region are read out without waveform data of the preceding-note region being read out, so that it is possible to reduce a time required for transition from a preceding note to a succeeding note. Thus, in the connecting portion for continuously connecting between tones with no break therebetween, a tone can be synthesized with high quality without involving a tone generating delay in the succeeding note.

Tone synthesis apparatus and method

Dynamics value is acquired intermittently at predetermined time periods, and a waveform data set for a sustain tone, corresponding to the acquired dynamics value, is specified from among waveform data sets stored in a memory. To generate a tone waveform while switching to the specified waveform, a waveform switching time is used which is modified suitably in accordance with a dynamics value variation amount from a predetermined time earlier than the current dynamics value acquisition time to the current dynamics value acquisition time. Such arrangements not only can variably control a tone, having a tone-color-variation realizing characteristic, in accordance with the input dynamics value but also permits a tone color variation with an enhanced responsiveness without causing the tone color variation to impart a feeing of undesired step-like unsmoothness, thereby synthesizing a tone with a high quality faithfully reproducing a desired tone color variation.

Determination is made, in accordance with acquired performance information, as to whether a crossfade characteristic should be changed or not, and a crossfade characteristic of crossfade synthesis having already been started at the time of the acquisition of the performance information was acquired are automatically changed in accordance with a result of the determination. Because the crossfade characteristic is automatically changed during the course of the crossfade synthesis, the time length of the crossfade synthesis can be expanded or contracted as compared to the time length that had been preciously set at the beginning of the crossfade synthesis, and thus, the time position of a succeeding one of rendition style modules to be time-serially combined in accordance with the acquired performance information can be allotted to a time position displaced by an amount corresponding to the expanded or contracted time.

There is provided a rendition style selector operable by a user to select a desired rendition style from among a plurality of rendition styles associated with a plurality of portions of tones. In response to selecting operation via the selector, a rendition style is determined which is to be applied to each desired portion of a tone. Then, performance information is output which designates a rendition style module corresponding to the determined rendition style. The module defines a waveform characteristic to provide the corresponding rendition style. According to another type of the rendition style selector, a user can collectively select a combination of a plurality of rendition styles associated with different portions of a tone. Thus, a plurality of rendition styles can be designated collectively by one selecting operation. Rendition style suitable for each portion of a tone to be generated may be determined on the basis of a performance event.

Rendition style determination apparatus and computer program therefor

Performance event data designating rendition style modules are supplied in order of time. When a given performance event data at a given time is to be processed in accordance with the supplied performance event data, another performance event data related to one or more events, following the given performance event data, is obtained in advance of a predetermined original time position of the other performance event daata. Control data corresponding to a rendition style module designated by at least one of the given performance event data and the other performance event data obtained in advance is generated on the basis of the given and the other performance event data, and a waveform corresponding to the designated rendition style module is synthesized on the basis of the control data. Characteristic of at least one of preceding and succeeding rendition style modules is modified on the basis of trailing end information of the preceding rendition style module and leading end information of the succeeding rendition style module. When rendition style designation data, including information designating a rendition style module and parameters for controlling the rendition style module, is lacking in a necessary parameter, the lacking parameter is filled with a predetermined standard parameter.

Waveform production method and apparatus

Each time a predetermined type of note controlling performance data (e.g., note-on event data) is detected from among a series of performance data, deviation values for a plurality of channels, varying in deviation state among the channels, are set such that a control value of a predetermined tone characteristic (e.g., event generation timing), included in the note controlling performance data, is caused to vary among the plurality of channels. Then, values, obtained by causing the control value vary among the plurality of channels in accordance with the respective deviation values of the channels, are set as new control values for the corresponding channels. Then, for each of the channels, there is created note controlling performance data of the predetermined type having the corresponding new control value incorporated therein. A break of a phrase in performance data may be detected so that control can be performed per phrase.

Performance data processing and tone signal synthesizing methods and apparatus

Rendition style determining apparatus detects at least one of duration of a first note to be performed at a given time point and time interval between the first note and a second note to be performed following the first note, in order to automatically impart music piece data with an appropriate rendition style. Rendition style to be imparted to the music piece data in relation to the given time point is determined on the basis of the detected duration or time interval. Also, the apparatus can readily control the rendition style to be imparted to the music piece data, by appropriately setting/changing rendition style determination conditions, such as reference time lengths. Music piece data is supplied to a determination device, thereby causes the determination device to perform automatic rendition style determination based on the supplied music piece data and then displays the rendition style imparted to the music piece data.
