A noise immunity of a detected capacitance is prevented or inhibited from lowering on a driving electrode different in width from the other driving electrodes, provided in an input device. A touch panel serving as an input device has a plurality of driving electrodes extending in an X-axis direction and arranged in a Y-axis direction intersecting with the X-axis direction, and a driving electrode arranged outside one side of an arrangement of the driving electrodes and extending in the X-axis direction. Further, the touch panel TPhas a plurality of detecting electrodes extending in the Y-axis direction and arranged in the X-axis direction. The width of the driving electrode is smaller than the widths of the driving electrodes and the detecting electrode includes an expanding portion for expanding the area of the detecting electrode on the side opposite to the plurality of driving electrodes via the driving electrode.

A display device includes a display region having a plurality of pixels, a driver IC provided in a frame region on an outer side of the display region and configured to drive the pixels, a first power source wiring line and a second power source wiring line each electrically coupled to the driver IC, and a first electrode that is arranged so as to face the first power source wiring line and the second power source wiring line via a first insulating layer, and is electrically coupled to the first power source wiring line.

The first electrodes are disposed in a matrix (row-column configuration) in a display region of the substrate. The second electrodes are disposed in a peripheral region on the outside of the display region of the substrate. The driver supplies a drive signal to the first electrodes and the second electrodes. The first electrodes output detection signals corresponding to self-capacitance changes in the first electrodes. The second electrodes output detection signals corresponding to self-capacitance changes in the second electrodes.

A touch panel, a display panel, and a display unit achieving prevention of erroneous detection caused by external noise. The touch panel includes: a plurality of detection scan electrodes extending in a first direction and a plurality of detection electrodes facing the plurality of detection scan electrodes and extending in a second direction which intersects the first direction. A ratio of fringe capacitance to total capacitance between one or more selected detection scan electrodes and a first detection electrode is different from a ratio of fringe capacitance to total capacitance between the one or more selected detection scan electrodes and a second detection electrode. The one or more selected detection scan electrodes are selected, in a desired unit, from the plurality of detection scan electrodes, to be supplied with a selection pulse, and each of the first and the second detection electrodes is selected from the plurality of detection electrodes.

A touch detection device is provided and includes driving electrodes for detecting an external proximity object, extending in first direction and arranged in second direction; first voltage line extending in second direction; second voltage line extending in second direction; third voltage line extending in second direction, third voltage line being narrower in than first voltage line and second voltage line in width; and switching circuit for electrically connecting driving electrodes and first voltage line, second voltage line, or third voltage line.

A width of the sensor drive electrode including the first electrode on the edge is smaller than a width of the other sensor drive electrode not including the first electrode on the edge.
