A magnetic head suspension assembly, wherein a wiring member for connecting a magnetic head element with a read/write amplifier circuit board is integrally formed with the suspension for supporting the magnetic head element. The suspension is equipped integrally with a circuit wiring pattern via a flexible insulating base material. The flexible insulating base material is made as wide as the circuit wiring pattern. The top surface of the circuit wiring pattern has a surface protecting layer which is wider than the circuit wiring pattern.

Magnetic head suspension assembly

A method of manufacturing a magnetic head suspension assembly, wherein a wiring member for connecting a magnetic head element with a read/write amplifier circuit board is integrally formed with the suspension which includes the steps of (1) forming a flexible insulating base material on one surface of a springy metal layer by using a non-photosensitive polyimide resin layer or a photosensitive insulating resin layer; (2) producing a circuit wiring pattern on the top of the flexible insulating base material by plating and by using an electrically conductive metal thin film; (3) for forming a surface protecting layer on the surface of the circuit wiring pattern; (4) the springy metal layer; and (5) bending the springy metal layer to form a desired suspension.

Method for manufacturing a magnetic head suspension

A photosensitive insulation bonding layer is formed on a conducting layer. The photosensitive insulation bonding layer is subjected to exposure treatment to produce an exposed area and an unexposed area. Another conducting layer is formed on the outer surface of the photosensitive insulation bonding layer which has undergone the exposure treatment, then both conducting layers are photoetched to produce desired wiring patterns. In the next step, the unexposed area is removed from the photosensitive insulation bonding layer by development so as to form an access opening for connecting a circuit component to the wiring patterns. Then, the exposed area of the photosensitive insulation bonding layer is turned into an insulating layer by curing.

Manufacturing method for double-sided wiring board

An IC-mounting flexible circuit board and the process of producing the same in which the process comprises the steps of forming bump protrusions passing through a flexible circuit board to be electrically conductive with a circuit wiring pattern in such a way that the bump protrusions are allowed to protrude from the back surface of the flexible circuit board, and arranging to have the surface of each bump protrusion coated with junction metal in accordance with the structure of the protrusion, so that a bare IC chip is simply bonded to the bump protrusions of the flexible circuit board by means of heat fusion or ultrasonic bonding. An excimer laser means is preferably used for boring small holes in an insulating base to form bump protrusions, i.e., IC pad junction protrusions on the flexible circuit board. Such an IC pad junction protrusion is formed by a plating means such as soldering or the filling of a conductive member. Moreover, a reflow process is employed to form the preferably semicircular protruding portion of the IC pad junction protrusion.

Process for producing an IC-mounting flexible circuit board

A method for the manufacture of a multilayer printed circuit board on which integrated circuit chips may be directly mounted includes producing holes at predetermined locations to enable electrical connections between a chip and conductive layers of the circuit board to be established via the holes. Electrically conductive bump members, which protrude outwardly from the circuit board, are formed in registration with the holes. The bump members cooperate with an electrically conductive plating layer or filler that is deposited so as to be in intimate contact with a conductive layer(s) exposed during the production of each hole.
