A covered electrical wire comprising a conductor and an insulating covering layer provided outside the conductor, the conductor being a stranded wire composed of a strand of a plurality of copper alloy wires: composed of a copper alloy containing Fe in an amount of 0.1% by mass or more and 1.6% by mass or less, P in an amount of 0.05% by mass or more and 0.7% by mass or less, and Sn in an amount of 0.05% by mass or more and 0.7% by mass or less, with the balance being Cu and impurities; and having a wire diameter of 0.5 mm or less, the copper alloy wire having a tensile strength of 385 MPa or more and a work-hardening exponent of 0.1 or more.

Covered electrical wire, terminal-equipped electrical wire, copper alloy wire, and copper alloy stranded wire

A covered electrical wire comprises a conductor and an insulating covering layer provided outside the conductor, the conductor being a stranded wire composed of a strand of a plurality of copper alloy wires: composed of a copper alloy containing Fe in an amount of 0.2% by mass or more and 1.6% by mass or less, P in an amount of 0.05% by mass or more and 0.4% by mass or less, and Sn in an amount of 0.05% by mass or more and 0.7% by mass or less, with the balance being Cu and impurities, and having a mass ratio of Fe/P of 4.0 or more; and having a wire diameter of 0.5 mm or less.

An electric wire conductor capable of achieving both flexibility and a space-saving property, a covered electric wire and a wiring harness including such an electric wire conductor. The electric wire conductor contains a wire strand containing a plurality of elemental wires twisted together, and has a flat portion where a cross-section intersecting an axial direction of the wire strand has a flat shape. A covered electric wire contains the electric wire conductors and an insulator covering the electric wire conductors. A wiring harness contains such covered electric wires.

Electric wire conductor, covered electric wire, and wiring harness

A covered electric wire comprises an insulating coating layer on the outer side of a conductor. The conductor comprises a copper alloy consisting of: not less than 0.05% by mass and not more than 2.0% by mass of Fe; not less than 0.02% by mass and not more than 1.0% by mass of Ti; not less than 0% by mass and not more than 0.6% by mass of Mg; and the balance being Cu and impurities. The covered electric wire is a stranded wire comprising a plurality of copper alloy wires stranded together. The plurality of copper alloy wires each have a work hardening coefficient of not less than 0.1 and a wire diameter of not more than 0.5 mm.

Covered electric wire, terminal-fitted electric wire, copper alloy wire, and copper alloy stranded wire

A copper alloy wire, a copper alloy twisted wire, a covered electric wire, and a wiring harness that have high strength and excellent impact resistance. A copper alloy wire for use as a conductor has a ratio of 0.2% proof stress to tensile strength that is 0.87 or less. A copper alloy twisted wire includes a plurality of the twisted copper alloy wires. A covered electric wire includes a conductor including the copper alloy wire and an insulation cover that covers an outer periphery of the conductor. A wiring harness includes the covered electric wire, and a terminal metal fitting that is attached to the conductor of the covered electric wire.

Copper alloy wire, copper alloy twisted wire, covered electric wire, and wiring harness

An aluminum alloy wire, an aluminum alloy twisted wire, a covered wire, and a wiring harness, which are excellent in impact strength when a terminal fitting is connected. An aluminum alloy wire contains 0.03% or more and 1.5% or less by mass of Mg, 0.02% or more and 2.0% or less by mass of Si, and 0.1% or more and 0.6% or less by mass of Fe, with the balance consisting of Al and impurities; the wire containing acicular-shaped MgSi precipitates of 2.0 to 6.0 in aspect ratio. Further, provided are an aluminum alloy twisted wire containing a plurality of the aluminum alloy wires; a covered wire containing a conductor containing the aluminum alloy wire, and an insulation coating covering the outer circumference of the conductor; and a wiring harness containing a terminal fitting attached to the conductor of the covered wire.

Aluminum alloy wire, aluminum alloy twisted wire, covered wire, and wiring harness

An aluminum alloy, an aluminum alloy wire, an aluminum alloy stranded wire, a covered electric wire, and a wire harness that are of high toughness and high electrical conductivity, and a method of manufacturing an aluminum alloy wire are provided. The aluminum alloy wire contains not less than 0.005% and not more than 2.2% by mass of Fe, and a remainder including Al and an impurity. It may further contain not less than 0.005% and not more than 1.0% by mass in total of at least one additive element selected from Mg, Si, Cu, Zn, Ni, Mn, Ag, Cr, and Zr. The Al alloy wire has an electrical conductivity of not less than 58% IACS and an elongation of not less than 10%. The Al alloy wire is manufactured through the successive steps of casting, rolling, wiredrawing, and softening treatment. The softening treatment can be performed to provide an excellent toughness such as elongation and impact resistance and thereby reduce fracture of the electric wire in the vicinity of a terminal portion when the wire harness is installed.

Aluminum alloy wire

A copper alloy wire can be used as a conductor. The copper alloy wire is made of a copper alloy containing: not less than 0.4 mass % and not more than 1.5 mass % of Fe; not less than 0.1 mass % and not more than 0.7 mass % of Ti; not less than 0.02 mass % and not more than 0.15 mass % of Mg; not less than 10 mass ppm and not more than 500 mass ppm in total of C and at least one of Si and Mn; and the balance of Cu and impurities. The copper alloy wire has a wire diameter of not more than 0.5 mm. Preferably, a mass ratio Fe/Ti in the copper alloy is not less than 1.0 and not more than 5.5.

Copper alloy wire, copper alloy stranded wire, covered electric wire, and terminal-fitted electric wire

An insulating coated wire includes a center conductor and an insulating coating. The insulating coating has a bending auxiliary section in which the thickness of the insulating coating is smaller than that of the other portion, and that has a shape in which at least a part thereof protrudes outward in the radial direction. The bending auxiliary section has a shape that facilitates bending of the insulating coated wire by elongation deformation thereof. This insulating coated wire can be manufactured by arranging, on the circumference of an insulating coated wire material, a metal mold that has the inner surface including the section having a shape protruding outward in the radial direction, and forming the bending auxiliary section in the shape along the inner surface of the metal mold by heating the insulating coating within the metal mold and generating a pressure difference between inside and outside of the insulating coating.

Insulating coated wire and method for manufacturing the same

An aluminum alloy wire, an aluminum alloy stranded wire, a covered electric wire, and a wire harness that are of high toughness and high electrical conductivity, and a method of manufacturing an aluminum alloy wire. The aluminum alloy wire contains not less than 0.2% and not more than 1.0% by mass of Mg, not less than 0.1% and not more than 1.0% by mass of Si, not less than 0.1% and not more than 0.5% by mass of Cu, and a remainder including Al and an impurity, and satisfies 0.8 Mg/Si&#x2266;2.7 by mass ratio. The Al alloy wire is manufactured through the successive steps of casting, rolling, wiredrawing, and softening treatment.
