A process for producing carbamic acid esters (N-phenyl carbamate) which comprises reacting an amino group-containing compound (aniline), oxygen, a nitro group-containing compound (nitrobenzene), a carbon monoxide-containing gas and a hydroxyl group-containing organic compound (ethyl alcohol) in the presence of a compound of a transition metal belonging to Pt group of VIII group (Pd) of the Periodic Table as catalyst, a non-metal halide (HCl) and water. ##STR1##

Process for producing carbamic acid esters

CO is recovered from a CO-containing gas by contacting a CO-containing gas with a non-aqueous CO-absorbing solution comprising 3 to 6 moles/l of hexametaphosphateamine, 1 to 4 moles/l of cuprous chloride, 0.1 to 1% by weight of water and an organic solvent, thereby absorbing CO into the CO-absorbing solution from the CO-containing gas, and then atomizing the CO-absorbed solution, thereby stripping CO from the CO-absorbed solution and obtaining a CO gas, while recycling the CO-freed absorbing solution to the absorption of CO from the CO-containing gas with remarkable reduction in the corrosion rate on apparatus materials without impairing the CO absorption, and use of a two-fluid, simultaneous atomizing means for atomizing the CO-absorbed solution together with the vapor of the organic solvent can improve the CO stripping rate, and reduce the CO recovery cost.

A process for producing acetic acid directly from ethylene under mild conditions is provided, wherein ethylene and oxygen are respectively coordinated with the respective transition metals contained in a specified composite catalyst system, and ethylene activated thereby is successively oxidized by two kinds of oxygen complexes contained in the system and having their electric charge states adjusted, the composite catalyst system comprising a complex represented by a formula (MmXn.Ll) and a complex represented by a formula (M'm'Xn'.L'l') wherein is a transition metal of the groups I, IV.about.VII and iron group; X, an anion; L, an organic phosphorus compound as a ligand; M', a transition metal of Pt group; L', a nitrile, organic fluorine compound or organic phosphorus compound as a ligand; m, m', n and n', each a number determined by the valences of the transition metals and anion; and l and l' each the number of ligands.

A process for producing methyl ethyl ketone selectively and with a high yield by oxygen-oxidizing 1-butene under mild conditions is provided, which process is characterized by using a composite catalyst containing a complex (MmXn.Ll) capable of forming an oxygen complex by coordination of the complex with oxygen and a complex catalyst (M'm'Xn'.L'l') capable of forming a 1-butene complex by coordination of the complex with 1-butene, wherein M represents a specified transition metal such as Cu; X, an anion; L, an organic phosphorus compound as ligand; M', a specified transition metal such as palladium; L', a nitrile, organic fluorine or phosphorus compound as ligand; m, m', n and n', each a number determined by the valences of the transition metals and the anion; l and l', each the number of ligands.

Process for producing methyl ethyl ketone

A process for producing a coal-water slurry having a high coal concentration (generally 60 to 80% by weight or more) and a lower viscosity, at a lower cost and with a smaller amount of dispersing agent added is provided, which process is directed to a process for producing a high concentration coal-water slurry by feeding coal, water and a dispersing agent into a wet, continuous ball mill and wet-milling them, characterized by feeding the dispersing agent in a multi-stage manner along the milling direction of coal within the ball mill.

Process for producing acetaldehyde

An improved process for desulfurizing combustion exhaust gases of mainly coal containing sulfur oxides, HF and dust containing Al is provided, which process consists of four steps; a first step of contacting the gases with calcium carbonate or hydroxide in the form of slurry to convert the sulfur oxides into CaSO.sub.3 ; a second step of contacting O.sub.2 with the resulting slurry to convert CaSO.sub.3 into CaSO.sub.4 ; a third step of separating CaSO.sub.4 and mother liquor from the resulting slurry; and a fourth step of preparing a slurry of calcium carbonate or hydroxide to be employed in the first step, from the mother liquor, the pHs of the slurry and the mother liquor in the first and fourth steps being adjusted to 5 or higher by adding alkali such as sodium carbonate. According to the present process, it is possible to prevent hindrance of HF and Al contained in dust to the reaction of SO.sub.2 -absorbent (CaCO.sub.3 or Ca[OH].sub.2) with SO.sub.2 gas, and thereby improve percentage desulfurization and also obtain a high quality gypsum.
