The image processing apparatus outputs both of first image data used to produce a photo-print and second image data used to produce an image file in accordance with the digital image data. The processing apparatus includes a printing magnification determining device for determining printing magnification used when the photo-print is outputted in such a manner that a printing size is inscribed in a standard scanning area which is previously defined based upon longitudinal/transverse sizes every sort of an original and a digitizing magnification determining device for determining digitizing magnification used when the image file is outputted in such a manner that an image file size which is previously defined based upon longitudinal/transverse pixel numbers every sort of the original is inscribed in or circumscribed about the standard scanning area. The image forming apparatus employs the processing apparatus and outputs both of the photo-print and the image file.

Image processing apparatus capable of freely varying aspect ratio, and image forming apparatus using the same

The image forming apparatus and method subject image data to predetermined image processing to obtain processed image data and execute both of outputting a print according to the processed image data and outputting the processed image data to an image file. The apparatus and method create information for identifying an original before an image of the original is read to input the image data and storing the original identifying information in a data base in relation to the image file, read out, when a reprint is requested by designating the original identifying information, predetermined processed image data from the image file of the data base based on the original identifying information and output the print according to the predetermined processed image data. As a result, the apparatus and method are capable of easily designating a corresponding image file when a reprint is requested and capable of easily outputting the reprint from the image file without the need of an original film.

Image forming apparatus and image forming method

A take-up device of an image forming sheet material, in which a plurality of sheet materials used for formation of images is sequentially wound, comprises: a core member formed in the shape of a cylinder and supported rotatably, the core member being provided such that the plurality of sheet materials can be wound around an outer periphery of the core member; an endless belt entrained across a plurality of rollers and moved in a circulating manner in a predetermined direction with an outer periphery of the endless belt contacting by pressure an outer periphery of the core member so as to rotate the core member and the endless belt nipping the sheet material together with the core member to sequentially wind the plurality of sheet materials around the core member; and tension maintaining means for maintaining tension of the endless belt substantially fixedly irrespective of a change of a winding diameter of the sheet material wound around the core member. Since the plurality of sheet materials are accumulated in such a manner as to be wound around the core member, even if the sheet materials having different sizes are included mixedly, these material be effectively accumulated.

Take-up device

A frame memory of an image recording apparatus includes a first frame memory for storing image data having a large number of pixels per unit area and a small number of gradations per pixel and a second frame memory for storing image data having a small number of pixels per unit area and a large number of gradations per pixel. Image data representing a character, a graphic figure or similar items requiring a high resolution is stored in the first frame memory, while image data inputted through a scanner or similar device and having a large number of gradations is stored in the second frame memory. In recording an image, the image data stored in the first frame memory is converted to image data having a large number of gradations, and the image data stored in the second frame memory is converted to image data having a high resolution, and recording is effected on the basis of these image data. As a result, images are recorded with high image quality by using a small-capacity frame memory.
