A sheet feeding apparatus includes a feeding unit, a separation surface, a first separation part configured to switch between a condition in which the first separation part is protruded from the separate surface and the sheet comes into contact with the first separation part and a condition in which the first separation part is retracted from the separate surface and the sheet does not come into contact with the first separation part and to be fixed to each of the two conditions and a second separation part configured to be movable in a direction from a condition in which the second separation part is protruded from the separate surface and the sheet is capable of come into contact with the second separation part to a condition in which the second separation part is retracted from the separate surface, according to a contact force received from the sheet.

An ink jet recording apparatus capable of landing an ink drop on an exact position on a recording medium is provided. The ink jet recording apparatus performs recording on a recording medium which has been subjected to application processing with a pretreatment liquid. The ink jet recording apparatus has an electrostatic belt which has a resistance layer formed on the surface thereof, and a power feed roller which imparts charges to the surface of the electrostatic belt. The recording head discharges ink to the surface of the recording medium when the back of the recording medium comes into contact with the surface of the electrostatic belt to which the charges have been imparted.

Ink jet recording apparatus having charged conveying belt

A printing apparatus is provided which can prevent foreign matters such as ink adhering to the surface of the conveying belt from getting transferred to other constitutional components. When the conveying belt is rotating in one direction, the foreign matters adhering to the surface of the conveying belt is removed by the wiper. When the conveying belt rotates a predetermined distance in the opposite direction, the pinch roller, the electric charge removing roller and the electric charge supply roller that are in contact with the belt surface are disengaged from the surface of the conveying belt. The predetermined distance is set equal to a rotating distance that the conveying belt rotates until a portion of the surface of the conveying belt, which was in contact with the wiper, comes into contact with the pinch roller, the electric charge removing roller and the electric charge supply roller.

A sheet conveying apparatus includes: a sheet stacking unit; a sheet conveying unit being in contact with the sheet stacked on an uppermost portion, of the stacked sheets, and conveying the sheet; a separation unit separating the sheets into only one sheet of the uppermost portion by a separation slope that abuts a tip portion of the sheet conveyed by the sheet conveying unit; and a guide unit connected to the separation unit and guiding the sheet, in which an angle between the sheet stacking unit and the separation slope is switched to a first angle and a second angle smaller than the first angle by a rotation center of the separation unit provided in a vicinity of a connection portion of the separation unit and the guide unit.

Sheet conveying apparatus, printing apparatus, and processing apparatus

In an inkjet printing apparatus, a printing medium is conveyed in a conveying direction by causing the printing medium to adsorb to the surface of the endless belt by electrostatic force. When printing, the surface potential of the printing medium directly below the printing head is acquired. The discharge speed of the ink that has been associated in advance with the acquired surface potential is obtained, and an amount of variation in the landing position of the ink is determined based on the scanning speed of the printing head, the distance from the printing head to the printing medium, and the discharge speed of the ink. The timing of discharge of ink from the printing head is corrected to cancel out the determined amount of variation, and printing is performed based on image data in accordance with the corrected timing.

Inkjet printing apparatus and ink discharge control method

Provided is a recording medium conveying mechanism including an endless center conveying belt and endless side conveying belts, the endless center conveying belt and the endless side conveying belts being looped over a driving roller to be driven by a motor, a driven roller and a tension roller. The center conveying belt is positioned in a center in a width direction of a recording medium to be conveyed, and the side conveying belts are positioned on opposite sides in a width direction of the center conveying belt, respectively. The center conveying belt includes a material with a high elastic modulus while the side conveying belts include a material with a low elastic modulus, and a biasing member for providing a tension to the center conveying belt and the side conveying belts is provided on a shaft of the tension roller.

Conveying mechanism and recording apparatus including the same

A recording apparatus is capable of reliably correcting skew feeding of a recording sheet in an arrangement for conveying the recording sheet absorbed by a belt surface. The recording apparatus includes: a driving roller for driving the conveying belt wound around the driving roller and electrically charging the conveying belt by application of a voltage; and a pinching roller abutting against the driving roller via the conveying belt. A pinching section, which is formed by the driving roller and the pinching roller, corrects skew feeding of the recording sheet fed from the paper feed section and thereafter the voltage is applied to the driving roller to electrically charge the conveying belt.

A recording apparatus includes a feeding section configured to feed a recording sheet, a first conveyance roller which conveys the recording sheet fed from the feeding section to a recording area and conveys the recording sheet during a recording operation, a recording section configured to record an image on the recording sheet at the recording area downstream from the first conveyance roller in the direction of feeding the recording sheet, a conveyance rate detection unit configured to detect the conveyance rate of the recording sheet conveyed by the first conveyance roller, a recording sheet end detection unit disposed downstream from the first conveyance roller and detects the end part of the recording sheet, and a correction unit configured to correct the conveyance rate of the recording sheet conveyed by the first conveyance roller based on a result detected by the conveyance rate detection unit.

Recording apparatus

A burden on a user when changing sheets such as with an ink jet printer and the like is reduced, and the necessary stack space is secured without considering the step difference up to the mounting surface of an ejected paper tray worth of the amount of curls for sheets that easily curls such as post cards and the like. Thus, enlargement of the apparatus and increase in the manufacturing cost are suppressed, and is easily adopted for low cost type for mass consumption.

A printing apparatus is provided which has an eject guide capable of guiding print mediums of different thicknesses, that have been transported there, to a nip portion of the eject rollers of the fixed diameters. To this end, the eject guide is pivotally supported at one end thereof on the platen. The eject guide is positioned with the other end engaged with the chassis. This invention provides a small and simple construction to drive a mechanism for maintaining a printing performance of a print head. In one preferred mode of the invention, a recovery device to maintain the printing performance of the print head has a suction pump unit, a capping unit and a wiping unit. The suction pump unit is driven through a spring clutch mechanism by an LF motor in the print sheet transport unit as a drive source. The capping unit and the wiping unit are driven by an AP motor as a drive source in a rotary dead zone set for a paper feed unit that feeds the print sheet to a transport unit. A piston pump is suited for use in a recovery operation to maintain the function of the print head.

For eliminating waste of ink and achieving high charging efficiency with a reduced charging time where a printing head is equipped with a second tank for reserving a predetermined amount of ink and a supply system is configured to supply ink from a first tank to the second tank intermittently, the second tank is provided with a variable internal volume. The internal volume is varied to cause the second tank itself to function as an actuator for charging ink and performing a venting process. Specifically, the internal volume is forcibly reduced to cause a reverse flow of a gas residing in the second tank along with ink into the first tank, which makes it possible to generate of waste ink that is released to the outside. A normal charging operation can be completed simply by causing a change in the opposite direction (the direction of increasing the internal volume). Relatedly, the second tank may be provided with a member for holding ink and generating a negative pressure originating from an elastic force. With connection of the first tank and the member, the pressure in the second tank is reduced to cause the member to expand, thereby introducing ink into the same. This introduction is stopped by regulating the expansion with a displaceable unit which expands when the pressure is reduced. The regulation is performed at such a position that the negative pressure generated in the member by canceling regulation is in equilibrium with an ink meniscus-holding ability of the printing head.

Ink container, inkjet printing apparatus and ink supplying method

A head recovery device for an ink jet recording apparatus is provided with a pigment ink discharge port for discharging pigment ink and a dye ink discharge port for discharging dye ink. The device comprises a pigment ink cap for capping the pigment ink discharging port and a dye ink cap for capping the dye ink discharge port, and, in a predetermined recovery operation, a preliminary discharge is executed from the dye ink discharge port to the pigment ink cap.

An ink jet recording apparatus includes a cap capable of moving in approaching and receding directions against and away from a discharge port surface of a recording unit for covering the discharge port surface, a wiper sliding while contacting with the discharge port surface to wipe the discharge port surface to clean it, a wiper driving gear for transferring drive to the wiper, a cam and gear member equipped with a cam portion for controlling the movement of the cap and a gear portion for transferring drive to the wiper driving gear, in which the cam and gear member is configured so that the gear portion engages with the wiper driving gear after the cap has moved to a position where the cap does not interfere with the wiper. By such a configuration, both of the capping operation and wiping operation can be controlled with the single cam and gear member, which makes it possible to miniaturize a recovery mechanism portion for maintaining and recovering the ink discharging performance of the recording unit. Thereby, the recording apparatus body can be miniaturized.
