A vehicular automatic transmission includes a plurality of engagement devices and a plurality of planetary gear sets. Each of the planetary gear sets includes rotating elements. At least one of the rotating elements of one of the plurality of planetary gear sets is coupled to one of the rotating elements of another planetary gear set or one of the engagement devices, via a spline engagement portion. The rotating elements other than the at least one of the rotating elements coupled via the spline engagement portion is coupled to another rotating element or a non-rotary member directly or via one of the engagement devices. The at least one of the rotating elements coupled via the spline engagement portion is configured to be co-rotated with no torque transmitted via the spline engagement portion, when the automatic transmission is placed in a predetermined gear position as one of the plurality of gear positions.

Vehicular automatic transmission

This apparatus is provided with a clutch mechanism. The clutch mechanismis interposed between an engineand a transmission, and is coupled to a clutch pedal. An operating mode of the clutch mechanismchanges in conjunction with a change of an operating position of the clutch pedal. In the case that an execution condition is met, the apparatus lowers a maximum operating speed of the clutch mechanismin comparison with a state in which an execution condition is not met. The execution condition includes the following execution start condition that 'the operating position of the clutch pedalis a position setting the clutch mechanismto a disengaged state, and a changing speed of the operating position of the clutch pedalin an engaging direction at a time of setting the clutch mechanismto an engaged state from the disengaged state is equal to or higher than a predetermined starting speed'.

Control apparatus of clutch mechanism

A vibration damping mechanism of a rotation shaft that is not likely to be subject to the limitation in layout and that is capable of stably maintaining damping properties by a frictional contact portion without variation for a long term is provided. The vibration damping mechanism includes a shaft for outputting torque inputted from its input side end portion to its output side end portion, and a damping member having a fixed portion fixed to the shaft and a frictional contact portion held in frictional contact with the shaft, in which the frictional contact portion is provided with a clamping band for urging the frictional contact portion toward the shaft to be held in frictional contact with the shaft at a predetermined contact pressure.
