The invention provides an ink jet recording head, in which, for improving heat-dissipating property and electrode terminal connectivity and reducing production cost, second electrode terminals provided on a supporting surface of plural laminated sheets for supporting a liquid discharge substrate and to be connected with first electrode terminals of the liquid discharge substrate are provided outside an ink supply aperture formed in an outermost sheet constituting the supporting surface, and are supported by the outermost sheet and at least a sheet laminated thereunder.

Liquid discharge head, ink jet recording head and ink jet recording apparatus

A printing head is provided in which a distance between an ejection port face of the printing head and a print medium is reduced to improve an ink ejection accuracy during a printing operation. The printing head of the present invention is a back shooting-type printing head. The heater and an electrode connected thereto are formed at the back face of the substrate. The electrode and an in-support-base wiring for supplying electricity to the heater via the electrode are connected to each other at the back face side of the substrate. The substrate and the support base have therebetween a liquid chamber wall member including therein a space. The substrate, the support base, and the liquid chamber wall member constitute a liquid chamber that communicates with the ejection port and that stores ink supplied to the ejection port.

Ink jet printing head

An ink jet print head is provided which allows an ejection opening-formed surface to be cleaned well and can improve a precision with which ejected ink lands on a print medium. For this purpose, conductive layers of a conductive material are formed on the support substrate and planarized. The liquid ejection substrates are mounted on the support substrate with high precision, without a sealing agent, that protects electrical connecting portions on the liquid ejection substrates, protruding from the ejection opening-formed surface.

In order to dissipate to a high degree of efficiency the heat of a liquid discharge substrate of an ink jet recording head and effectively suppress increases in the substrate temperature, in an ink jet recording head in which a liquid discharge substrate is mounted on a supporting member through a foil-shaped heat dissipation member, the area of the heat dissipation member is greater than the projected area of the liquid discharge substrate with respect to the supporting member.

An electrode wiring line is formed on a supporting board which supports a printing element board constituting a printing head, and it is connected with the electrode wiring lines of a flexible board, thereby to interconnect electrode wiring lines which are formed on both the sides of the printing element board in order to feed a signal or the like of identical sort. With the structure thus arranged, it is possible to eliminate any electrical and structural defects in order to materialize a highly reliable and compact ink jet recording head.

An ink jet recording head comprises a flat substrate having an end face and front and back flat main surfaces having a larger area as compared to the end face, an energy generating member for generating energy to be utilized to discharge the ink from a discharge port formed on the front flat main surface side of the substrate, a wiring electrode connected to the energy generating member formed on the front flat main surface of the substrate, and a connection electrode, connected to the wiring electrode, for receiving an electrical signal supplied from outside of the substrate, wherein the connection electrode is provided on another surface, different from the front and back flat main surfaces of the substrate. An ink jet recording apparatus comprises the ink jet recording head and a member for mounting the ink jet recording head.

This invention provides a low-cost, economical printing apparatus and printing system. For example, characteristic information of a printhead which is described, printed, adhered, or formed on a printhead or its accessory (e.g., a packaging paper box) in a format identifiable to human or an electronic device is man-machine-interactively inputted to a host or electronically inputted to the host by a barcode reader or the like. The printing apparatus discriminates whether or not a command sent from the host via an interface is a command that includes characteristic information of the printhead, and control is made to write the characteristic information of the print head into a non-volatile memory (EEPROM) in accordance with the discriminating result. With an ink-jet recording head comprising multiple nozzle rows, for discharging ink of different colors, arrayed in approximately a straight line in approximately the same direction as the transporting direction of a recording medium, the positioning spacing of the nozzle rows of each of the colors is set so as to be greater than the length of the nozzle rows for discharging ink of each of the colors. Ink-jet recording head, process for producing the head and ink-jet recording apparatus employing the head

An ink jet head includes bump-shaped electrodes and of a recording element board and a drive element board, respectively. Of both electrodes, Young's modulus of a material forming the electrode is made smaller than Young's modulus forming the other bump-shaped electrode. With this construction, when the electrode and the electrode are press bonded to each other, since the electrode is relatively smaller in rigidity to the deformation, it deforms for itself thereby minimizing deformation in the electrode. As a result, when a new board is mounted, even if the electrode has an error, good bonding can be carried out.
