A special detection area in which detection in accordance with an activation detection algorithm for detecting a person or an object and detection in accordance with a protection detection algorithm having a higher detection sensitivity for the person or the object than the activation detection algorithm are performed is provided. Results of the detections in accordance with the activation detection algorithm and the protection detection algorithm are individually output to an automatic door device.

Automatic door sensor, automatic door system, and method of controlling automatic door system

A detecting unit () forms a plurality of detection spots arranged two-dimensionally on a floor surface near a door panel (). Each detection spot is capable of detecting a human or an object by infrared light independently from other detection spots. Region distinguishing means () distinguishes a region formed by plural ones of the said detection spots that have detected the human or object. Person's movement judging means () judges the direction in which the distinguished region moves. A signal which causes a door panel () to be opened is supplied to a door controller () only when the direction of movement of the distinguished region is the direction toward the door panel.

Sensor for use with automatic door

A first area () for detecting an object is formed by a radio wave or an ultrasonic wave, and a second area () for detecting an object by means of light is formed near the first area (). When an object is detected in the first area () approaching the second area (), the second area () is enabled. When an object is detected in the first area () moving in the direction away from the second area (), the second area () is disabled.

Composite sensor for door and automatic door system

A radio-wave transmitter-receiver section () forms a radio-wave detection zone () for detecting an object at a location way from a door (). A light emitter-receiver section () forms an optical detection zone () for detecting an object at a location along and closer to the door (). The light emitter-receiver section () includes mirrors () which are used to increase or decrease the depth dimension of the optical detection zone () in the direction perpendicular to the door ().
