A method for producing a lubricating base oil, comprising: performing aC-NMR analysis regarding an oil to be treated and selecting the oil based on a value for dividing an integrated value of a peak for a tertiary carbon atom by an integrated value of all peaks at 0 to 50 ppm, a value for dividing an integrated value of a peak for a carbon atom constituting a main chain by the integrated value of all peaks at 0 to 50 ppm, and a value for dividing an integrated value of a peak for a branched CHbonded to a fifth or the following carbon atom from a terminal carbon atom in the main chain by an integrated value of all peaks at 10 to 25 ppm, and obtaining a dewaxed oil by isomerization dewaxing of the oil selected in the first step, is disclosed.

The present invention relates to a composition for prevention and treatment of kidney diseases comprising one or more effective component(s) of a PAR-2 activating agent which is able to activate PAR-2 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. A semiconductor device includes a delay amount measuring unit, multiple delay sections and a correction signal generating unit. The delay sections includes a delay string capable of freely adjusting a connection number of its delay elements. The correction signal generating unit generates a correction signal for enabling each of the delay sections to correct the connection number of the delay strings such that each delay section has a desired delay amount, in accordance with the actual delay amount corresponding to the specified delay amount and measured by the delay measuring unit.

A situation where A is H or halogen, W is a single bond and R.sup.5 is H is excluded. The compound (1) has excellent cys-LT.sub.1 receptor antagonism.

The medicine according to the present invention is endowed with excellent antileukotriene activity and antihistaminic activity, and is useful for the prevention and treatment of, for example, asthma.

The present invention is directed to a piperidine derivative represented by the following formula (1) or a salt thereof: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 individually represent hydrogen atoms, etc., Y represents ##STR2## B represents a single bond, an alkylene group, --S--CH.sub.2 --, or --CH.dbd.CH--, E represents a single bond or a trimethylene group, Z represents an oxygen atom, etc., and n represents a number between 2 and 5 inclusive; and to a medicine containing the compound. The medicine according to the present invention is endowed with excellent anti-histaminic activity and antileukotriene activity, and exhibits reduced side effects such as drowsiness.
