A light source device includes a light source, a reflector that reflects light emitted from the light source, a light source housing accommodating the light source and the reflector and including a plurality of introduction ports through which cooling air is introduced, an introduction port forming portion having a plurality of outlet ports communicating with the plurality of introduction ports, an opening and closing device opening and closing the plurality of introduction ports, and a holding unit having the introduction port forming portion accommodating the opening and closing device. The light source device is used in a projector having a cooling device. The holding unit is fixed to an external housing of the projector and supports the reflector housing in such a manner as to be freely attachable and detachable.

Light source device and projector

A light source device includes a light source, a reflector that reflects light emitted from the light source, a light source housing accommodating the light source and the reflector and including a plurality of introduction ports through which cooling air is introduced, and a plurality of outlet ports communicating with the plural corresponding introduction ports, the outlet ports through which the introduced cooling air goes out, and an opening and closing device opening and closing the plural introduction ports. The plural introduction ports are disposed around a center shaft of the opening and closing device. The plural outlet ports are disposed along an opening of the reflector. The opening and closing device has a rotating member which rotates in accordance with the position of the light source device to selectively open and close the plural introduction ports.

Projector light source having cooling ports with rotating opening and closing device

A projector includes a plurality of light modulation devices and a cooling device. The cooling device includes a cooling fan configured to introduce and discharge air, and a duct configured to guide air received from the cooling fan toward the plural light modulation devices. The duct includes a first duct portion configured to allow the air to flow through the light modulation devices from sides of the light modulation devices, and a second duct portion which communicates with the first duct portion and guides a part of the air flowing through the first duct portion toward devices other than the light modulation devices.

Projector

A projector includes: an optical modulation device configured to modulate an incident luminous flux; a projection optical device configured to project the luminous flux modulated by the optical modulation device; and a cooling device configured to cool the optical modulation device, wherein the cooling device includes a cooling fan, and a duct having a discharge portion that causes the air discharged from the cooling fan to circulate in a direction approximately parallel to the optical axis, and discharges it to a lateral side of the optical modulation device, and the duct is disposed in a state that, when the projection optical device and discharge portion are cut by a plane perpendicular to the optical axis, the height position of a first center between the upper end and lower end of the cross-section of the discharge portion and that of the optical axis differ from one another.

A projector includes: an outer housing; and a plurality of handles provided on an upper surface of the outer housing to hold the projector, wherein each of the handles includes a pair of attachment members standing on the upper surface, and a grip member connected with the pair of the attachment members and extended substantially in parallel with the upper surface.
