A multilayer coil component includes an element body, and a coil that is provided inside the element body and includes a plurality of coil conductors that are stacked in a stacking direction and are electrically connected to each other. The coil includes a first coil conductor that consists of at least three side portions, a second coil conductor that consists of one or two side portions, a third coil conductor that consists of at least three side portions, and a fourth coil conductor that consists of at least three side portions. The first coil conductor and the second coil conductor contact each other and the third coil conductor and the fourth coil conductor contact each other. The thickness of the first coil conductor is larger than the thicknesses of the third coil conductor and the fourth coil conductor.

Multilayer coil component

A coil component includes an element body, a coil provided in the element body, and an outer electrode provided in the element body and electrically connected to the coil. The outer electrode is embedded in one surface of the element body such that a protruding portion, which is a portion of the outer electrode, protrudes from the one surface of the element body. Also, a thickness of an embedded portion, which is a portion of the outer electrode and is embedded in the one surface of the element body, is larger than a thickness of the protruding portion of the outer electrode protruding from the one surface of the element body in thickness in a direction perpendicular to the one surface of the element body.

Coil component

A multilayer coil component includes an element body; and a coil that is provided inside the element body and includes a plurality of coil conductors that are stacked in a stacking direction and are electrically connected to each other. Each coil conductor has a contact portion and a non-contact portion. A pair of the contact portions that are adjacent to each other in the stacking direction and contact each other form a contact region. In the coil, all the contact regions are located at different positions from each other when viewed in the stacking direction. The number of turns of the coil is represented by n (positive number). The number of stacked coil conductor layers is given by 2n+1.

An electronic component includes an element assembly that includes a magnetic layer and a non-magnetic layer and a coil that is provided within the element assembly and that is wound in a spiral form. The coil includes a plurality of laminated layers of coil wires. The non-magnetic layer includes an inter-wire non-magnetic layer located between at least one pair of the coil wires that are adjacent in a lamination direction and a radial direction non-magnetic layer located on at least one of an outer side portion and an inner side portion in a radial direction of the coil. The radial direction non-magnetic layer is spaced apart from the inter-wire non-magnetic layer.

Electronic component

An electronic component includes a plurality of groups arrayed in a stacking direction, each including a first inductor conductor layer, a second inductor conductor layer, a connection conductor layer and a first insulator layer. In each group, the first insulator layer is provided between a first superposed portion of the first inductor conductor layer and a second superposed portion of the second inductor conductor layer. The connection conductor layer is provided at the same position as the first insulator layer in the stacking direction, and electrically connects the first non-superposed portion and the second non-superposed portion included in the same group to each other. Among two adjacent groups in the stacking direction, a second superposed portion included in a group on another side in the stacking direction and a first superposed portion included in a group on one side in the stacking direction are physically connected to each other.

An electronic component including, a first side, a second side, a third side, and a fourth side connected in that order in a predetermined direction so as to demarcate a tetragonal track. A first coil conductor layer lies astride the first side and the second side. A second coil conductor layer lies astride the second side and the third side and is connected to the first coil conductor layer on the second side. A third coil conductor layer lies astride the third side and the fourth side and is connected to the second coil conductor layer on the third side. At least one of the first coil conductor layer and the third coil conductor layer is not disposed at a first corner formed by the first side and the fourth side, when viewed from the stacking direction.

An inductor manufacturing method includes a first step of press bonding a Cu foil onto a non-magnetic resin sheet, a second step of forming a conductor pattern by performing etching on the Cu foil, a third step of press bonding another non-magnetic resin sheet onto the conductor pattern, and a via conductor formation step of forming a via conductor that penetrates through the other resin sheet and leads to the conductor pattern. The method further includes a step of forming a body in which resin having magnetism is provided outside of a coil, by press bonding magnetic-powder-containing resin sheets onto a multilayer body, obtained by a manufacturing method including the first to third steps and the via conductor formation step, and then thermally curing the magnetic-powder-containing resin sheets.

Inductor manufacturing method

An inductor includes a multilayer body, which is composed of a non-magnetic material and a magnetic material, and a coil. An inner circumferential surface of the coil is covered by non-magnetic material layers. The sum of the width of a coil conductor forming part of the coil and the width of a non-magnetic material layer covering an inner circumferential side of the coil conductor that are located in a center portion of the coil in a z-axis direction is larger than the sum of the width of a coil conductor forming part of the coil and the width of a non-magnetic material layer covering the coil conductor that are located in an end portion of the coil on the positive side in the z-axis direction.
