A propylenic polymer according to the present invention or a composition thereof have an excellent melt flowability and contains a less amount of stickiness-causing components, and also has a low modulus and is pliable, and is capable of providing a transparent molded article, thus being useful as a substitute for a pliable vinyl chloride resin. In addition, a molded article made therefrom exhibits an excellent heat seal performance at a low temperature, and is excellent in terms of transparency and rigidity. Specifically, it has an isotactic pentad fraction (mmmm), which indicates a stereoregulariry, of 30 to 80%, a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 3.5 or less and an intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;] of 0.8 to 5 dl/g.

The present invention provides a wrap film or shrink film formed from a resin composition containing &lsqb;I&rsqb; a propylene polymer in an amount of 1 to 99 mass %, and &lsqb;II&rsqb; an olefin-based polymer in an amount of 99 to 1 mass %, wherein &lsqb;I&rsqb; the propylene polymer satisfies the following requirements of: (1) a meso pentad fraction (mmmm) is 0.2 to 0.6, and (2) a racemic pentad fraction (rrrr) and (1&minus;mmmm) satisfy the following relation: &lsqb;rrrr/(1&minus;mmmm)&rsqb;&lE;0.1. The wrap film or shrink film exhibits excellent characteristics, and does not generate a toxic gas derived from chlorine, such as hydrogen chloride gas or dioxin, when being incinerated.

Film

Disclosed are a binary random copolymer of propylene and ethylene, and a film to be formed by sheeting the copolymer. The film has good heat-sealability, high stiffness, good anti-blocking and slipping properties, and high transparency. As having excellent heat-sealability at low-temperature, the copolymer and its film are favorably used as sealant layers of laminate films.

A propylene homopolymer or a copolymer of propylene and an &agr;-olefin with at least 4 carbon atoms, which is produced through polymerization in the presence of a metallocene catalyst and which has an increased isotactic pentad fraction and a reduced molecular weight distribution; and also a propylene-based polymer composition as prepared by adding a nucleating agent to the homopolymer or the copolymer are superior to conventional polymers and polymer compositions, as they have well-balanced toughness and heat-sealability, and are not sticky, and, in addition, they have excellent anti-blocking properties. Their films especially those for wrapping and packaging edibles are tough and have excellent anti-blocking properties, and high film impact resistance. The polymer and the polymer composition have good moldability.

The invention provides (1) a propylene-ethylene random copolymer having specific properties, (2) a resin composition comprising a propylene-ethylene random copolymer with specific properties, and a nucleating agent, (3) a resin composition comprising a propylene-ethylene random copolymer with specific properties, and a propylene-based polymer; and their films, and multi-layered, propylene-based laminates of which the outermost layer is made of a specific propylene-based polymer. The films and the laminates exhibit excellent heat-sealability, and have good slip characteristics and good anti-blocking characteristics.

Disclosed are a binary random copolymer of propylene and ethylene, and a film to be formed by sheeting the copolymer.
