A device and method for detecting biological information without being affected by sudden-onset signal even when sudden-onset large vibration is caused while driving a vehicle or the like. Peak input and output values of a variable delay device are detected, and the difference between the values is determined by a subtractor. The difference is compared to a predetermined threshold to obtain a positive or negative output as an up/down selection output for an up/down counter. The output of the up/down counter is sent to a variable delay device with a clock generated based on an inputted peak signal of biological information to obtain a variable delay amount corresponding to one cycle of the biological information. When the subtractor output exceeds the predetermined threshold, a predetermined output voltage is generated, and an amplifier connected to the variable delay device is controlled so that the gain of the amplifier becomes zero.

Sudden-onset signal processing device for biological information, and sudden-onset signal processing method for biological information

Provided is an. emotion. estimating apparatus capable of precisely estimating an emotion and mental state of a measurement subject by using a non-contact pulse detection technology. The emotion estimating apparatus forcibly performs re-sampling processing of digital biometric data generated by converting a heart rate signal to digital data after extracting data for one cycle at an RR interval, and obtains coefficients of harmonic components by a DCT conversion processing unit. From the coefficients of the harmonic components, AC components are removed by LPFs, whereby a coefficient data array is obtained.. The coefficient data array is compared to a dictionary data group, in which dictionary data is a characteristic quantity indicating an emotion or mental state, and a similarity therebetween is calculated, whereby an emotion or mental state of a subject is estimated on the basis of the heart rate signal of the subject.

Emotion estimating apparatus

An R-wave of a heartbeat signal accompanied by periodic fluctuation is detected to obtain the average value of an RR interval. Further, a waveform of a heart sound signal, which periodically fluctuates in synchronization with the heartbeat signal, is forcibly repositioned at an interval equivalent to the average value of the RR interval. After performing reposition, noise is removed by using orthogonal transformation and orthogonal inverse transformation, so that the position of obtained waveform is restored to its original position.

Biological signal processing device and blood pressure measurement system

The difference between the current value and the last value of an RR interval is compared with a predetermined reference differential value, and an attenuation time constant of a peak-hold section is controlled according to the comparison result.

Heartbeat detecting device and biological signal processing device

Provided is a pulse detection apparatus and a pulse detection method less susceptible to movement of a subject and less susceptible to noise. An oscillation frequency controller is configured to cause a frequency variable oscillator to oscillate at a predetermined oscillation frequency, which is a frequency within a range assumed as a resonance frequency of a molecule of a predetermined constituent constituting the blood flowing through a human body. The oscillation frequency controller also controls an oscillation frequency based on a phase difference signal and an amplitude signal, wherein the phase difference signal indicates the phase difference between a transmission signal transmitted from an antenna to the human body and a reception signal received by the antenna, and the amplitude signal indicates the magnitude of the amplitude of the received signal. A pulse detector detects the change of the amplitude signal in an amplitude direction as a pulse signal.

A biological signal detection device including a first FFT transformer that performs fast Fourier transformation on a signal of a first sensor, and that outputs a complex data row formed by a first real part data row and a first imaginary part data row; a second FFT transformer that performs fast Fourier transformation on a signal of a second sensor, and that outputs a complex data row formed by a second real part data row and a second imaginary part data row; a frequency component subtractor that subtracts the first real part data row from the second real part data row to output a noise-removed first real part data row; and a FFT inverse transformer that performs fast Fourier inverse transformation on the noise-removed first real part data row and the second imaginary part data row.

A sound wave sensor, capable of reliably detecting presence or absence of a banknote very easily with use of sound waves, is provided. The sound wave sensor includes a sounding bodythat outputs a sound wave signal of a predetermined frequency, an echo bodyopposed to the sounding bodyin a direction in which the sounding bodyoutputs the sound wave signal, the echo bodybeing provided at a position where the sound wave signal resonates at the predetermined frequency; a slitthrough which a sheet-like banknotepasses, the slitbeing provided between the sounding bodyand the echo body; and a resonance determination unitthat determines a resonant state of the frequency output from the sounding body. Sound wave sensor

A first oscillation circuit in which a helical antenna is used as a part of an element for a resonance circuit and a second oscillation circuit in which a loop antenna is used as a part of an element for a resonance circuit are caused to oscillate at substantially the same frequency. When a human body approaches the helical antenna and the loop antenna, the frequency difference between the first oscillation circuit and the second oscillation circuit increases. This frequency difference is extracted using a BPF.

Proximity sensor

A signal control apparatus comprises: a first delay unit that receives a modulated signal corresponding to a positive input signal component; a second delay unit that receives a modulated signal corresponding to a negative input signal component; transducers that receive signals from the delay units and that output, as ultrasonic waves, the received signals; a microphone that detects the ultrasonic waves outputted from the transducers; a waveform characteristic detection unit that integrates the detected ultrasonic waves, thereby detecting the waveform characteristics of the positive sonic wave and of the negative sonic wave; and a delay adjustment unit that inputs, based on the detected waveform characteristics, to the first delay unit or second delay unit, the information of a delay amount being in accordance with a phase difference between the signal outputted from the first delay unit and the signal outputted from the second delay unit to reduce the phase difference.

Signal control apparatus

In order to enable noises entering the ear from random directions to be muted without wearing headphones, this muting device is provided with: a super-directional microphone that detects noises in spot areas around the ear at pinpoints; and an ultrasonic speaker that modulates and outputs a carrier signal supplied by a transmitter according to noise signals detected by the super-directional microphone. Furthermore, an adaptive filter is provided, and the adaptive filter supplies noise signals with the opposite phase to noises detected by the super-direction microphone, and transmits an ultrasonic signal from the ultrasonic speaker toward the eardrum of a human.

Muting device

A cabinet to which a speaker unit is attached is configured to have an enclosed space where sound waves outputted from the rear surface of the speaker unit are transmitted, a sound guide space separated from the enclosed space, and an outlet for the sound waves transmitted in the sound guide space. A diaphragm is positioned between the enclosed space and the sound guide space of the cabinet, and an actuator is attached to the diaphragm. An audio signal shared with the speaker unit is supplied to the actuator, and diaphragm vibrations are enhanced by the actuator.

Speaker device

This biological information processing device is provided with: a peak detection unit for detecting the peaks of a biological signal generated in a cardiac cycle; a waveform clipping unit for clipping out a first peak-to-peak biological signal between two peaks, which are adjacent on the time axis of the biological signal, on the basis of detection results of the peak detection unit; and a resampling unit for transforming the first peak-to-peak biological signal to a second peak-to-peak biological signal for a prescribed number of samples. The biological information processing device is further provided with: an orthogonal transformation unit for generating orthogonal transformation coefficients by performing an orthogonal transformation on the second peak-to-peak biological signal; a differential processing unit for generating a differential signal for the orthogonal transformation coefficients on the time axis; and an encoding unit for encoding the differential signal.

In an active muffler having improved response characteristics, a speaker section includes a diaphragm adapted to generate sound, a voice coil for driving the diaphragm, and a distance sensor to detect the movement of the diaphragm. A light generated by the LED is reflected by the diaphragm, the reflected light is detected by a phototransistor to thereby measure the distance to the diaphragm, so that the movement of the diaphragm is detected. Noise is detected by a microphone, and a signal having opposite phase to that of the noise is generated by an opposite-phase generating section. The difference between the opposite-phase signal and the signal of the distance to the speaker from the distance sensor is calculated and inputted to a PID control section. Such a difference indicates the delay of the speaker movement. Feedback control is performed in a direction in which the difference is canceled out.

Active muffler

A high frequency signal interpolation apparatus provides, with a simple structure, a high-quality digital audio signal through interpolation of high frequency signals missing due to compression. The high frequency signal interpolation apparatus includes a peak value detection and holding circuit configured to detect a peak value of a digital audio signal provided to an input terminal by sampling the digital audio signal and generate a square wave signal by holding the detected peak value; a high-pass filter configured to extract a higher harmonic component from the generated square wave signal; and an adder configured to add the extracted higher harmonic component to the digital audio signal provided to the input terminal.

High frequency signal interpolating apparatus

A signal corresponding to a short-period change and a signal corresponding to a long-period change of a sound signal are detected, and optimal quantization is performed based on the combination of the two signals. In an ADPCM encoding apparatus (), a differential value dbetween a 16-bit input signal Xand a decoded signal Yof one sample ago is calculated by a subtractor (). Thereafter, the 16-bit differential value dis adaptively quantized by an adaptive quantizing section (), so as to be converted to a (1 to 8)-bit length-variable ADPCM value D. Thereafter, the ADPCM value Dis compression-encoded by a compression-encoding section () to generate a signal D', and the signal D&#x2032;is framed by a framing section () and outputted. Further, in an ADPCM decoding apparatus, a framed input signal is subjected to a reverse of the aforesaid process so as to be decoded.
