A load drive control circuit for controlling a load that includes connection terminals. The load drive control circuit includes bridge circuits respectively connected to the connection terminals of the load. Each bridge circuit includes two semiconductor elements, which are connected between a power supply and ground, and an output terminal. The semiconductor elements are each controlled to be switched between activated and deactivated states. The output terminal of each bridge circuit generates a bridge output that varies in accordance with a combination of the activated and deactivated states of the semiconductor elements in the bridge circuit. A detection circuit detects whether a short circuit is occurring in the connection terminals. A control circuit switches the bridge circuits to electrically disconnect the load from the power supply when a short circuit is occurring during a period in which the load is in a suspended state.

Load drive control circuit

A compact and inexpensive sensor sensitivity adjusting apparatus. The sensor sensitivity adjusting apparatus includes a sensor, a current supplying IC and a variable resistor. The current supplying IC has first and second fixed resistors connected in series between two terminals of a power supply, and an operational amplifier. The sensitivity of the sensor changes in accordance with the value of a drive current. The drive current is adjusted by changing the resistance of the variable resistor.

Sensor sensitivity adjusting apparatus

A rotation detector includes a rotor having a shaft. Projections are located at predetermined intervals on the periphery of the rotor and extend in an axial direction. Magnets are located between the projections and the shaft. The flux of each magnet is detected by a corresponding magnetism detection element. Each magnetism detection element has magnetic resistors. Movement of the projections changes the direction of flux of the magnets. Each resistor is switched between a first state, in which its magnetic resistance is great, and a second state, in which its magnetic resistance is small, in accordance with the change of the flux direction. The resistors are divided into two groups. The groups are substantially symmetrical relative to a centerline of the groups such that, when the direction of the flux changes, the resistors in one group are in the opposite state from the resistors in the other group. The centerline of changes in the direction of the flux matches the centerline of the resistor groups.

A microcomputer is not stopped to be monitored even in a state in which a wrong standby signal is detected. A watchdog circuit outputs a starting signal to a microcomputer . An output signal Q of a determination circuit is reset by this starting signal. If the determination circuit does not detect a standby signal st when a clock signal CK is input from the started microcomputer, the output signal Q is set. However, if the determination circuit detects the standby signal st, the output signal is held in a reset state. Even if the standby signal st is input, because an AND circuit does not output a standby signal ST due to the reset of the output signal Q, the watchdog circuit is prevented from entering a standby mode by the standby signal st.

Computer monitor device

A computer monitoring device is provided that prevents a microcomputer from entering an operational state that cannot be monitored. The microcomputer is started at an output signal Q of a determination circuit is reset by a reset signal RS output from a watchdog circuit . Thereafter, when a clock signal ck is input from the started microcomputer, the determination circuit outputs a clock signal CK to the watchdog circuit and sets the output signal. However, when the standby signal st is detected at the time of starting the microcomputer, the output of the clock signal CK and the set of the output signal Q are stopped. In this way, the standby signal ST is not output from the AND circuit to the watchdog circuit, the output of the reset signal from the watchdog circuit is repeated, and the microcomputer does not operate.

A device for control of driving a power window automatically holds a switch in its operated state to continuously raise or lower a door glass by continuously rotating a motor. The device stops the motor when a locking current flows through the motor upon complete closure or complete open of the door glass. The device includes a thermistor inserted in a signal line through which current flowing through the motor passes. The thermistor is disposed in the vicinity of the motor. When a locking current flows through the motor, the current also flows through the thermistor so that the thermistor is heated and shuts off the current flowing therethrough so as to stop the supply of electricity to the motor when the temperature of the thermistor exceeds a predetermined value. Also, the thermistor has a function of shutting off current flowing therethrough when receiving heat radiated from the motor due to over current.

Thermistor actuated device for controlling the drive of a power window

A computer monitoring device is provided which ensures safe operation, even when a power supply voltage supplied to a microcomputer decreases and causes the microcomputer to enter an abnormal state. When the power supply voltage decreases, the power supply circuit is switched to an auxiliary power supply which supplies power to a microcomputer monitoring circuit and signal processing circuit via a diode. The microcomputer monitoring circuit in turn provides a reset signal for the computer so that it can continue to operate, which ensures safe operation of the computer. The computer monitoring device is particularly useful in a power window system for a vehicle.

The first circuit inputs a clock signal from MICON. The second circuit inputs a clock signal corresponding to the clock signal from the first circuit, and outputs a judgment signal continued for a specified time from the time when the clock signal is inputted. The judgment signal is inputted to the third circuit. A standby signal from MICON is inputted to the third circuit. When MICON is normal, the clock signal properly outputted, and to the AND circuit, the second signal is inputted, and if the standby signal is inputted from MICON with the second signal inputted, it can be judged that the standby signal is properly outputted from the normal MICON. Consequently, when both judgment signal and standby signal are inputted, the third circuit outputs the standby active signal to the first circuit.

Computer monitoring unit and power window system

A control circuit outputs a first signal at a predetermined period in the case of being in a normal state and in the case of not being in a normal state, stops the output of the first signal at the predetermined period and outputs a third signal for controlling a motor on the basis of a second signal at a time when a switch SW is operated. In the case that the control circuit is not in a normal state, the first signal is not output at the predetermined period, a fifth signal is output from an output circuit and the second signal passes through a second gate circuit. Then, a drive circuit drives the motor by the second signal passing through the second gate circuit.

Motor control apparatus

A power window driving control device formed of a measuring device which measures time elapsed since closing of a window glass has been designated by a switch, a sensor which detects a completely closed state of the window glass, a current detecting device which detects that current flowing to a motor when the window glass is being closed exceeds a predetermined value, and a driving control device which effects one of stopping the motor and stopping the motor after driving the motor reversely for a predetermined time, in at least one of a first state, in which the current detecting device detects that the current flowing to the motor exceeds the predetermined value and in which the completely closed state of the window glass is not detected by the sensor, and a second state, in which the time elapsed since closing of the window glass was designated exceeds a predetermined time. Even if a foreign object exists on a path of movement of the window glass in a closing direction, the foreign object is not caught between the window glass and a window frame so that stability is guaranteed.

Power window driving control device

A motor current detection circuit is formed of a current detector for detecting an overloaded state of a motor by comparing a motor current value, which represents current flowing through the motor, with a predetermined reference value, and a hysteresis generating circuit for generating, in the current detector, a hysteresis characteristic corresponding to an integrated value with respect to time of an increment amount by which the motor current value exceeds the reference value. Chattering in output of the current detector is reduced so that an overloaded state of the motor can be detected quickly.

Motor current detection circuit

An apparatus for driving and controlling a motor which moves a movable portion of a vehicle by driving force of the motor. The apparatus includes a drive stopping circuit for comparing a value of current detected by a current detection circuit, which detects drive current of the motor when the movable portion is being moved, with a predetermined comparison current value, and for stopping driving of the motor at a time when a detected current value exceeds the comparison current value. The apparatus also includes a comparison current varying circuit for varying the comparison current value based on a temperature of an environment of the movable portion. Since it is possible to carry out temperature compensation based on ordinary drive current and lock current of the motor, the comparison current value can be set within a wide range.

Apparatus for driving and controlling motor

A relay control circuit in which a capacitor is used as a power source of a transistor which prohibits operation of the transistor which is operated by input by switch operation. If power is no longer supplied to the entire relay control circuit while the capacitor is discharging, switch input is prohibited.

Relay control circuit

A motor current detection circuit in which a level for detecting an overload state is varied when motor drive voltage varies so as to prevent erroneous detection due to variation in-motor current which occurs when the drive voltage varies.

A current detecting circuit for detecting excess current. The current detecting circuit has a circuit which corresponds a reference value for detection with application of power to a load and temporarily makes the reference value for detection high. Faulty detection of rush current can be prevented without providing a timer circuit.
