A brake controller is configured to control a brake device. The brake device applies a braking force to each of wheels by moving a pad toward a rotor provided for each of the wheels and pressing the pad against the rotor. The brake controller includes: a pressing force detection section configured to detect a pressing force information corresponding to a pressing force by which the pad is pressed against the rotor during braking; a stroke detection section configured to detect a stroke information corresponding to a stroke amount of the pad toward the rotor during braking, wherein the brake controller distributes the braking force to each of the wheels such that the pressing force is in a range other than a predetermined range, and sets the predetermined range based on the pressing force information and the stroke information.

A braking device for a vehicle includes a plurality of braking force generators; a steering assist device; a yaw rate detecting unit; and a control device. The control device is configured to perform control such that, in a case where the plurality of braking force generators perform a braking operation and there is a malfunctioning braking force generator, braking forces of the plurality of braking force generators other than the malfunctioning braking force generator are maintained or increased when an acquired value of an actual yaw rate acquired from the yaw rate detecting unit is equal to or less than a reference value, and a steering torque is applied to a steering system in a direction in which the actual yaw rate decreases when the acquired value of the actual yaw rate is larger than the reference value.

A negative pressure controller controls a negative pressure in a vacuum chamber of a vacuum booster by controlling a negative pressure supplier connected to the vacuum chamber. The negative pressure controller includes: negative pressure sensors each configured to detect the negative pressure in the vacuum chamber; and a negative-pressure-supplier controller configured to actuate the negative pressure supplier when one of output values of the negative pressure sensors which is nearest to an atmospheric pressure among the output values becomes nearer to an atmospheric pressure than a first threshold value. The negative-pressure-supplier controller is configured to stop the negative pressure supplier when at least two output values of the output values of the negative pressure sensors become nearer to a vacuum than a second threshold value.

A disk brake is disclosed that has a shim between a brake pad and a pressuring element for pressing the brake pad against a disk rotor. The disk brake includes a stopper portion for stopping movement of the shimwith respect to the brake pad, wherein a point of action on the shim the stopper portion acts on is provided at the downstream side in a rotating direction of the disk rotorwith respect to a point of action on the shim the pressuring element acts on.
